Upgrading Officers' Space Abilities

in Duty Officer System and R&D
Good evening (US East Coast)! I have a new Jem'hadar bridge offier that has Torpedo Yield II, but I can't access it. How do I train my officers to get the higher skills? It says something about training manuals, or something of the sort, and I'm not sure how to go about training them. Thanks again!

    Promoting them to a higher rank usually works (button at the bottom right of the boff's skill screen), and of couse, making sure they are in a bridge officer seat that can handle the higher abilities.

    Also worth noting, they have to be promoted to a higher rank to learn the higher rank abilities from manuals too.

    Cool, I'll give that a try. I promoted him past the Lieutenant rank where the High Yield Torpedo II is (he's a Lt. Com now) but it's still not usable in space for him. Also, what do I have to do to get the training manuals required for the other abilities?

    Hmm, this is getting interesting...

    What ship are you trying to use him on? Does it have a Lt. (+) Tac station?

    Training manuals can be purchased at ESD, or Qo'nos at the Bridge officer Trainer NPC.

    High end abilities, are generally aquired from Players crafting manuals using PADDs or from creating manuals from unwanted Bridge officer candidates (not the officers on your roster, the ones you haven't 'hired' yet).
