I personally think that the Iconians are being under played. With their ability to appear anywhere, we have hardly seen any of them outside missions and episodes. I would like to see the game upped with them. How about you?
The Iconians, Underplayed. 51 votes
Yes, I would like to see more on the iconians and heralds. Perhaps Adding Red alerts to sector space with more of the iconian ships. Maybe even have a special Faction Red alert where you get a message Inside Sol system that you can join and battle the Iconians over Earth/ESD, Starfleet academy. Same for Q'ono's and New romulaus.
No, I think it is find just there way it is.

I don't think it has to be quite THAT grim. I would agree with adding Herald Red Alerts at a bare minimum. If done like the typical Red Alert with the Borg, you of course have the option not to enter it should you personally not like it to be a part of your gameplay experience. I also agree with those who believe this season was badly timed to coincide with Risa. That should not have happened, IMO.
Someone in another thread proposed server-wide events themed around defeating Heralds and Iconians, a little bit like what happened with the Delta Recruits. I like that idea, personally.

They could just gate in anywhere playing one of the individual 12 Iconains and some Heralds - ESD, DS9, Bajor, Drozana, etc., etc. and just start laying waste to anyone there. It would take a pretty massive effort to force them to retreat - a galaxy-wide 'red alert' so to speak as everyone at the attack location would instantly call for help. I know a lot of people would say, "But I was just there to check the Exchange, blah, blah, blah. I don't want random attacks!" But this sure would draw attention to the fact that a WAR was going on, that the Iconians can be anywhere anytime, and that they are REALLY powerful. It would keep everyone looking over their shoulder.
But after the last FE, nevermind....just send some Pakleds to their ships and have them turn off the power. "Iconian's ship no power. Iconians smart like us. Die fast."

This is NOT a godzilla threshold situation until we've explored our other options and exhausted them. theres still at least 2 things we have not tried yet, namely the krenim time cloak and REGULAR time TRAVEL.
Until our options are literally exhausted there is NO excuse for this.
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
Fixing/Changing one element of this game is not going to solve anything. More needs to be done, but what needs to be done (in my opinion at least) wont ever come about, so... yeah.
I agree completely. We should have the option to reject the Krenim plan.. going back and erasing parts of the timeline is something that Starfleet wouldn't endorse. I would think the Klingons would strongly object as well, I mean.. isn't it 'dishonorable' to erase your opponent from time instead of facing them in battle? How is that not an act of cowardice?
The frustrating part with the writing is that the story is presented like it's our only choice. Like if we don't do this drastic action we have no hope of winning. From the players perspective though, the Iconians aren't even a real threat. Everytime I have faced them from my perspective, I have mopped the floor with them. Be it the storyline, STF's, whatever.. the Iconians can't even scratch my hull. It's very strange to play these missions and hear that we're losing and everything is so bleak that we all have to sacrifice our most core rules and principals to have a chance.
The entire thing is awkward and just poorly written.
Very true and even I would not want to be forced into a battle. I remember when the maps were segmented, and the enemy encounters FOLLOWED you to engage. So it's why I said special Faction Red alert meaning the Red alert icon appears in Sol System, New Romulas, Q'ono's allowing you to choose to join it.
I UTTERly Agree. Time cloaking devices, Time shields, Just not the Super weapon. That thing is more dangerous than the Doomsday machine.
What I think We shoul dbe doing is making Chronoton infused weapons. Like the full auto rifle you get at the end of Broken Circle. Chronoton infused (antiproton) weapons (We already have Torpedos). Simple adjust them so that the weapons infuce the target with Chronoton Radiation. I know there is a chronoton dual Beam bank in the lobi store. So let us make single beams, Dual heavy cannons, dual cannons, cannons, turrets.
There might be some story plot issues such as the Prophets the Bajoran wormhole aliens being vulnerable to them as well. But when I heard them talking about the idea of REBUILDING the time weapon.... No. No Thank you.
A mission based on whatever Sela is up to in the GQ
Iconian Red Alerts
The only outcome from using the timeship is bad... and in the end it'll most likely result in us blowing it up (Unless you can reverse time with more time.) thus making all this pointless.
I say we go round the star back to 2409.... dump a TRIBBLE ton of chroniton mines in the Iconia System... and boom... we win the war!
This. I don't like the iconian plot and I am tired of floaty purple space wizards.

For crying out loud, they're energy beings.. can't we just hit them with an EMP?
Anything is better then expecting us to buy the idea that they're so incredibly powerful that the only way to beat them is to irreparably destroy the timeline. If they go though with it and have us totally erase the Iconians, then they should roll the game back to season 9. Why? Because the Solane built the Dyson Spheres for the Iconians.. we remove the Iconians, we remove the Dyson Sphere that allows us to access the Delta Quadrant.
That's one of thousands of potential plot problems that will result from removing the Iconians from time. It's just a big mess.. there are a million better ways to handle it.
One other thing that people forget.
If we erase the Iconians from the timeline, Romulus does not explode, which means the Romulan Republic would never have existed, and all our Romulan characters would just disappear!
That is one thread that would alter the game entirely....
Though Tovan Khev would be allowed to not exist, that would be okay.
I just hope it gets resolved with help from Sela, I just don't want to think about the timebomb method.
