I left the game a while ago, is it worth coming back?

I quit shortly after Delta Rising, mainly because all the new grind became so soul-rendingly tedious that i stopped enjoying the game. When i left, ALL the STFs were dead, the craftable stuff was making every other hard earned piece of gear totally obsolete, and you had to spend about 2 hours repeating the same patrols over and over again to watch your exp bar raise about 10%.

I absolutely loved the pants off this game once. i've easily logged over 1000 hours into it across all my toons, and i would like to play it again. However, if all the problems that made me leave are still there, i don't want to come back to the metaphorical abusive boyfriend.

So, are things better now, or has nothing really changed?

I consider things a bit better now. STF seem to recover, fails in advanced were dismissed last week or so and peeps begin to queue up again. The avarage player also got stronger granting better avarage success.

As for the levelling some minor benefits are brought into game. But nothing overwhealming of course.

Being part of a huge Armada gives you up to 20% XP boost. We also have a weekly free spec point by playing the latest episode.

When DR came out leaving was heavily on my mind as well. I just cut down a bit and tended to doffing. That was a good choice because it’s benefit for levelling multiple alts is extraordinary. Some of my chars look at up to 80 sepc points by now. I estimate that 85% of that came out of the doff system.

So my advise there is log on, sent those doffs to work a take a look around to see if u find anything fun.

By doing average Doff assignments 2 times a day I get 1-2 levels per toon each week that way. (0 Effort/Grind + massive dil income)

Just afraid they will nerf Doffing next because fun in this game is returning again and we can't let that happen, can we?

Argela is out of the fashion. You can get skill points now playing FE missions
And the queues are not dead. Alot of people do ISA and some more ISA.
Also the advanced queues don't fail as much as they use to do.

I don't consider that to be a good thing. At all.

I, for one, don't appreciate the return of STF's that take forever to complete due to players who are not ready for Advanced missions playing Advanced missions. At least with the fail condition the instance was put out of it's misery if the team wasn't up to the task; now they just drag on and on and on.....

Then focus on PvE with a short overall duration?

I don’t claim that I was able to carry a whole team through ISA or CSA with the fails in place but don’t encounter an never ending match either now even if 2 players get kicked from map and the other two are weak. 40k DPS got the job done for me during one of yesterday's ISA desasters (good job at not sending game-crashed peeps back to map Cryptic) and its not that much.

I'm gald peeps queue up. And with peeps I mean everybody for a random mix. There is nothing I hate more than waiting in queue or going in with teams where everybody is as good as me and there is no game left to play because of it.

Well , lets see. The grind is even worst. STFS are not dead but more empty than before, mostly because of lag. The rewards it seems that improved (i really dont have a clue) but if you cant play in proper conditions.. who cares.

The gaining of exp is more or less the same. You have more options and some minor improvements were made to gain exp but the ammount of play you need is still a lot. The game is almost the same when you left. So, maybe you should wait a little longer?

Well, i decided to re-install the game just to give it one more chance again...

All of my stuff is gone. all my weapons, rep gear, fleet consoles... and apparently this has been caused by a bug from months ago. And the Gm support ticket i sent still hasnt shown up in my list of active tickets after 2 hours... Yeah, already wishing that i had simply left this game off my system for good, coz this has just pissed me off something royal.

It's still the same way as when you left it.

With all the recent and coming changes the game has improved tremendously. Log-in and see if you enjoy it, it's really that simple! The forums tends to be dominated by Cryptic haters, don't ask me why.

The STF thing has gotten a bit better. Not like it was Pre-DR, but better than what you saw from DR's release.

But for the rest of your issues, are exactly still the same. It's still the same, slow slog Post-Lv50. XPs? That's gotten worse, actually. Cryptic nerfed XPs from doffing to ensure you got jack TRIBBLE from them. Certain DOFF missions before used to supplement very well the XP gains from your regular adventuring. Not anymore.

Not all crafted gear is the best however. Certain Fleet and Reputation equipment are still tops. But make no mistake, upgrading isn't cheap. Matter of fact, upgrading Fleet & Reputation gear is very expensive since they start at Mk XII and not the cheaper Mk II that crafted items can.

    The sucks banatine...
I would feel as you do if the same happened to me.
Hopefully they resolve it, and you can play part time or whatever...no need to be super serious if the grind annoys you.
Featured episodes might be worth playing in your situation.

Hope you get your stuffz back though..bummer

No. Still the same as it was, but now you get 20 minutes of content every 3/4 weeks and a spec point once every week you play(or replay) that content. R&D hasn't been repaired, DPS master race is still prevalent to complete higher difficulties, difficulty scaling through extensive lagging still enabled and we get more ships than "content" to keep your wallet busy.
