"Crack in the Mirror" makes no sense in the Cardassian Struggle (Fed-side)

As the title says, the mission Crack in the Mirror doesn't have context from the missions preceding it (Orb of Possibilities? Why are you talking about this all of a sudden?) and no satisfying ending from skipping the rest of the Mirror arc.

The missions is just there, making no sense. I never did the arc as a Starfleet character so I was really confused.

it makes more sense if you are federation and play all the boring a.ss cra.p leading up to it. there are a couple missions that explain more, but yeah cardi arc s.ucks TRIBBLE and is supposedly next on their list for 'revamp'. We can only hope they do as good a job as they did with the federation's romulan arc...

Let's hope so. But the thing is most of those missions (especially the grueling ones) contain lots of delta recruit stuff. So they pretty much made it harder for themself to revamp the arc since they have to make sure it still works properly after they revamped the arc.

Considering the effort of revamping these missions I think placing some Iconian artifacts around the map and maybe adjusting some dialog is nothing.

And boy, does the "Cardassian Struggle" need a revamp.

At the very least, the constant interruption from "Kurland here!" and "This is Kurland!" needs to be redressed.

And frankly, I would like to see an entire season/chapter devoted to the Mirror Universe, rather than a couple of episodes in the midst of another story arc.

Oh yeah, it's clearly a leftover of the subscription model. Most missions just drag on forever an let you waste time by running through sheer endless corridors. There's as much padding in this one arc than in the rest of the game combined.

Just sayaing that "Badlands" & "The long night" surely deserve their names.

Yep. Absolutely. The entire arc seems to be full of padding and bereft of story.

Might make sense, but to be honest, the whole Mirror Universe arc just seems... bad. I find it hard to swallow that the Mirror Universe sends huge fleets against us, or that the Mirror Universe Terran Empire was rebuild the strength it has, with the ships it has.

So I'd rather have the mirror universe story reduced. Or maybe changed to play mostly in the mirror universe. Maybe we get stuck there for a while? Or maybe we need to go back a lot because they have something or someone we need?

The latter might work better for immersion - if you laeve a mission saying "Dang, we are now stuck in the mirror universe" and then you transwarp to ESD to get your Promotion and make some shore leave on Risa...
That said... The Romulans have a mission that has you ending up trapped, and they don't care about such issues.

I think a good start for Romulans would be to either remove A Crack in the Mirror and find another way to meet the Prophet for the Delta Recruits OR add the mirror arc to the Romulan arc. Right now, it's just confusing as hell.

I would not like to see it removed, but it does feel out of place in that story arc, and I don't think it would feel any less out of place if it were added to the Romulan arc. Hence I said I would like to see an entire arc focusing on the Mirror Universe. And honestly, I find the Mirror Universe rather interesting (not least because Spock was already sizzling enough, and then they went and added that goatee in "Mirror, Mirror," which turned his hawtness up to 11, omg).

i'd personally like to see it removed, never liked it much

as for the supposed incoming revamp, i'd like to see a revamp of the joshua riker mission, cause even though i'm a KDF allied romulan, and also when playing KDF, he always says i'm going to take him prisoner

idk about anyone else, but after riker kung-fu's his way through the mission my characters would respect him too much to take him prisoner x3 so i'd love a way to tell him such and let him go
KDF for Life! <3 Romulan at Heart <3 Fed cause they made me ~ :P

Well, it would definitely feel better for new players. I was so lost when I suddenly teleported to meet the Prophet and she mentioned the Orb. I had no idea what I was doing there. Then the next mission just started talking about Cardassians again. :/
