So, in the Prime Universe, V'Ger shows up to Earth and the Enterprise goes out and stuff happens and V'Ger leaves. An Alien Probe that snuffs power sources shows up looking for Whales and the crew of the enterprise travel back in time and save the day. How did those crises get averted in the Mirror Universe? Did they get averted?
In First Contact, Picard and company go back in time to stop the Borg assimilating Earth in the past. If the Borg had been successful how would they have dealt with V'Ger or the Whale Probe?

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

However, I have given these kinds of idea some thought, myself... technically speaking, the Borg (or, say, the Dominion) exist in the mirror universe... and they could easily ROFL-stomp that universe, a la "Worst of All Worlds." That would be fascinating to explore (Borg, or Dominion, attack in the mirror universe).
It shows divergence happening earlier on true, but even if Voyager 6 was never sent out, it could easily be assumed that Humpback whales would have been wiped out the same in that universe, especially given humankinds more aggressive nature in that universe. It was also explained that the Borg were the ones responsible for the disappearance of Romulan and Federation starbases along the neutral zone at the end of Season 1 of TNG. That was before Picard ever met the Borg, which insinuates they were in the beta quadrant before Season 2 when they made their first appearance, so their appearance in Season 3 could still easily have happened in the Mirror Universe as well. How would the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance have dealt with the Borg invasion?
Really my question was just to drum up some fun discussion of potentially cool stories. I've been thinking of dabbling in the Foundry a bit, and love getting ideas bounced around to play with.

The whale probe? The Terran Empire would have thrown everything they had at it. That may have been the event that finally weakened the Empire to the point that the coalition of Klingons and Cardassians felt comfortable tearing it down and enslaving the Humans. (Because of course the Terran Empire let the whales go extinct - they're not useful for extending the Emperor's reach, so they're useless. That's the sort of flaw that usually brings down empires - an arrogant dismissal of anything that doesn't seem immediately useful to the central government.)
