Hackers Beware!

I have never given out my account information to anyone... ever! Neither my user name nor my password... EVER!!!

Not even my email address has been given out to anyone else in the game.

I created a new email address specifically for just this game. It is not used for any other reason. Why am I saying this? Well because someone has been trying to access my account and the same person has been trying to gain access to my email account as well.

Let me explain something to whomever is doing this...

Your I.P. Address and location has been logged. Your I.S.P. has been notified and is working closely with I.C.P.O.

You have made several attempts to access both the game account and my email account.

Continue trying to access my account and you will suffer the consequences of your illegal actions.

Have a nice day!

you do realize that its highly likely that this person isn't playing the game or checking this forum right?

its also likely that they aren't actually specifically going after your account on STO they could be data mining your entire system..everything from passwords to other sites to bank details..I highly suggest you run malware scans and virus scans.

If the problem persists without finding any results from the scans you should probably do a fresh install of windows, no telling whats on your computer. (that's what I do anyway).

As for the "ISP" being notified that probably will be irrelevant. As most people who end up key-logging or people who use various other hacking programs will likely have hidden their ISP and mac code (most of the time dedicated hackers use burn rigs (disposable laptops of computers) like burn phones basically. Its more than likely your "warning" will go unheard and your report will not matter.

be aware of any sites you visit and any emails on your other email addresses as well, one wrong can TRIBBLE you over.

p.s while this may not matter as much as it could, turn printer and file sharing off in your windows network settings having that on only helps those kinds of people.

Awww man. I was just going to borrow a few torpedoes.

On a serious note, hackers don't read forums. The only way a hacker knows your account email is if you .... put it up for the world to see.

My advice, hide your email, create a new email, switch it to that. Keep your social, business, and work information separate. That includes email.
You're wasting your breathe with hollow threats. I'm a security pro, and know an amateur hacker would laugh at your post.

I.P. Address, location and I.S.P. often mean nothing and have nothing to do with the hacker.

hackers only need to intercept packets of info from your machine to outlook then data mine for the password and login details. for outlook is a fairly easy thing to get a hold of, so the security features that come with this site are largely a complete waste of effort and time. then all the hacker would need is to login on the arc games website and change the whole profile around, including changing passwords and if they wanted to email passwords as well.

any smart hacker would not use their own ip or physical network card address and they sure as heck wouldnt want to be caught by being that silly.

What you're describing is a local wireless attack. And no, it's incredibly unlikely someone near is pulling packets to get into Startrek Online. Man in the middle doesn't just happen online, hackers don't just pick an ip address out of a hat. 99% of the time it's something the victim downloaded. So regarding the safety features on the site, they work great against a blind brute force. The security system assumes users haven't compromised their own systems. No security system in the world can defend against PEBKAC.

actually once a long time ago, i had first hand experience on the subject. i never downloaded anything, but the way the hacker went through it was by going through the router and then waiting for the information packets to be released, then use a tool that took a while to datamine for username and password. i still use that email address even today, password changed since, but my point in this is that this one local wireless attacker got into my email without me needing to do anything other then transmitting my "encrypted" data along the network.

now i never mentioned anywhere star trek online the game itself, i mentioned websites.
