Plus lots of negative resistance stacks from Aattack Pattern Beta or similar sources?

i'm starting to think that most of these high dps people are really just relying on the plasma damage to prop up their numbers.

I checked his beam damage, pretty similar to mine. except for the 50k, 102k, 67k plasma dmage that propped up his average real high..

Please don't tell me I have to buy ANOTHER resepc token to change my skill allocations. This skill thing is getting awefully expensive

Partgens don't (or shouldn't, anyway) affect those plasma explosions: they're not classed as exotic damage as they occur on a weapon activation.

Take a look at the base damage column, that should give you an idea of what buffs they used to get the number's higher. (And I bet it's APO, APB, APA among other's).

There is a difference between one hit 100k and 100k DPS worth of Plasma explosion.

Since you worded yourself as "50-100k" you dont know exactly the damage of plasma explosions are.

The Plasma explosions worth 100k one hit is normal for players who know how to time their buffs. There is no need for beta stacking for 100k one hit for plasma explosions.

If you are saying 100k DPS for plasma explosions alone, show me a link to the parse. Otherwise, you are wild guessing numbers of what that player is doing. Besides, no one will be able to do 100k DPS worth of plasma explosions in a random team. The current highest DPS is 154k DPS in a premade recluse nannied team. If you look at that parse DPS, plasma explosion doesn't account for 100k DPS.

Those absurd explosions are why we can't have nice things.

    Get it.
I need to get to him. I can't just leave him out there alone. - Sometimes you've got to makes sacrifices, Lara. You can't save everyone. - I know about sacrifices. - No, you know about loss. Sacrifice is a choice you make. Loss is a choice made for you. - I can't choose to let him die, Roth.

    1. fire at will crits the plasma explosion
    2. attack pattern alpha
    3. omega
    4. eptw3
    5. etc

Put them all at the same time and you get massive hits. Oh and rom decloak helps too.

There was, I believe it was called 'plasma doping' - something about exploiter or locator consoles doing something they shouldn't be doing and hiking up plasma damage as a result.

    But that got fixed.

I'm guessing also the OP saw a single 100k crit from a plasma explosion, perhaps a high yield torpedo or something? Is that more realistic?

    I dunno.

sorry....poor wording, 100k in plasma explosion damage

I haven't explored combatlog very much so I don't know how much his OTHER plasma explo are doing. I can only see the damage done when it kills. so he killed 3 ships each with over 50k worth of damage from the explosion.

this is info I picked up from combatlog.

I was testing out some small changes on my ship and decided to parse some figures....randomly opened one and saw the huge numbers and I was curious.

it say +x% plasma based exotic damage

so I bought all the embassy consoles with the +partgen modifier. I hope I'm buying the right consoles. I havne't started upgrading yet, I really don't want to waste 30k dil upgrading something that's completely wrong.

Those are the right consoles. And it's the Adds Plasma Explosion Proc to Energy Weapons part that does the plasma explosion damage. Before you upgrade them make sure, you actually need the +partgen and not something else like +flowcap (to boost the Plasmonic Leech console or maybe in combination with tyken's rift and the trait from the Nandi warship). Also make sure you have gotten the correct ones with +/- threat depending on what you want.

I couldn't see any + - threat......I thought that was only when you upgrade to epic.

Doesn't matter anyway.......if this is the right console, time to spend some dilithiums

Be careful here. The +% plasmadamage has nothing to do with partgens. Partgens dont boost explosion damage, but are used for skills like subspace vortex and TBR (and if you fly a more scientific ship, GW and the new sci-beam-BO-Skill).

As for how to get such crits... basically how you do damage in the first place. Boost your basedamage, add some debuffs on the enemy and max out your crth/crtd-ratio.

having rechecked the stats, looks like his beam damage is about three times higher than mine. So I guess it isn't some magical console that makes it god like.

Well, I'll upgrade these consoles and see what I can get out of them.

You take a ~3k base damage console (I'll call it 3k because it's close enough). Slap on AMP (12.2%), Warfare Specialist (10%), skill points(109%), TT(18%), and the starship mastery (10%), and now we're at ~7800. Add on APO (32%), Nukara Aux->Offense(6%), Nukara 2-set (2.5%), APA (55%), TF (33%), GDF (100%), Crit Severity (250%), EPTW1 (10%), Anchored (25%), Ambush (25%), and we're at 42k. Add in a healthy ~2.2x damage resist multiplier (from IF/APB, normal in high dps runs), and boom, 100k.
    SCM - Crystal C. (S) - [00:12] DMG(DPS) - @jarvisandalfred: 8.63M(713.16K) - Fed Sci

    SCM - Hive (S) - [02:31] DMG(DPS) - @jarvisandalfred: 30.62M(204.66K) - Fed Sci

    Tacs are overrated.

So this was all an incorrect nomenclature thing?

100k as in one-hit, not as in 100k DPS?
