They may not be the "end of all things" kind of ships but they still pack a punch.
Though the fed version is falls somewhat behind the others. KDF & rom have battlecloak and way better native energy types, so there's that.
I'm kinda bummed the T6 Chimera lost 1 engi console, in comparison to T5-U Fleet Chimera.. <.<

my kdf vet ship is the first t6 ship i havent bailed out of in favour of my t5u the instant the trait was unlocked.
^^ Also, 100% This.
T6 Vet ship's boff layout makes it so I can fly an A2B build with dual (!) Engineer Lt. Cmdr., allowing for both EPtS1/EPtW3 and SIC3. With an Embassy [PrtG] console + a PEP, that is wicked setup!
depends why you are asking, if you have no interest in any of the other goodies in the lifetime package or supporting the game then for 3 ships $200 is expensive.
if on the other hand you were thinking of buying a LTS especially now while its on sale for $200 then look at it like this, 3 x T6 ships 1 fed, 1 rom and 1 kdf would set you back about $90 in the c-store on top of that you also have 3 x T5U ships 1 fed, 1 rom and 1 kdf, and they would set you back perhaps another $75 in the c-store.
add to this all the other stuff you get in the package plus the 500 zen you get every month and I cant really see how you can go wrong.
I haven't had a chance to try these ships for myself yet but they have got to be better then the T5U ships and quite frankly I have found them to be very good to use even by todays standards.
as it stands IMHO if you have the cash to spend on the game you would be a fool to not spend it on a lifetime sub, its the only in game purchase you will ever make that just keeps on giving.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
Absolutely - has to be said, probably the best thing about the new Vet ships is how versatile they are. They lend themselves VERY well to some pretty diverse builds.
Though I'd have preferred Intel over Command. It's pretty hard to leave a ship that has access to OSS 3. But it looks like cryptic abandoned that spec.:(
I would have loved for that Command slot to be truly universal, meaning any branch combination with any of the T6 specializations. I haven't yet tried the KDF version, but the Romulan one is very nice as a beam boat, and the Fed version has done well with a DHC/quad build with mines.
They make a wondrous mess of things. Brave amateurs, they do their part.

I agree on that one. Lt. Commander intel would have been perfect here.

I was already LTS. Just never got around to playing around with these new ships.
I find it to be an excellent ship for an Alt where running something different than my main is a significant goal of mine.
On the Fed side, I run it with the Universal handing ENG defense skills and the Hybrid seat loaded with Command Abilities while Reciprocity makes the most of the Cmdr Tact holding all the tactical skills. Many other options are possible given the Lt. Cmdr. Universal seating granting the ship a great deal of versatility.
Less impressed with the Klingon and Fed version, but they are solid if not standout performers.
my kdf vet ship is the first t6 ship i havent bailed out of in favour of my t5u the instant the trait was unlocked.
The Pilot Ships still smoke check the hell out of these Veteran Ships. Heck, they smoke check all other Escorts. I'll grab the mastery trait and move on but may leave a character on one of these ships for the sake of variety. No loss for me since I was LTS years ago and I can go back to which ever ship anytime I want.
Oh, and the KDF Veteran DD is the best looking of the 3 Faction variants.
I like them, I especially like the looks of them, love the looks of both the Duvqu' and the Dinaes. Also, I don't mind the look of the Manticore (especially since I read the reason why it looks the way it looks).

The new destroyers are nice upgrades over the old ones. I have a KDF engineer that I was about to give up on, because I didn't want to spend money on a new ship just for her. I'd still rather be able to upgrade my Bortasqu', but being able to slot two LtC positions in the destroyer with engineers is great.
I've been flying my KDF Tac in the Vet ship. Prior to that, I was flying her in the Risian Corvette and the T5U version of the Vet ship prior to the T6's coming out. While I miss the movement of the Corvette, I won't be going back to that ship anytime soon. I think the next time I move her, it will be into one of the pilot ships as soon as I've farmed and refined enough Dil to transfer to Zen + my stipend accruing to buy the full pack.
I have mine set up in a DHC/DBB/turret build currently and I have no complaints

However, I would not buy a LTS for the sake of them.

The base T6 ships are a carbon copy of the base t5U console layouts. You don't need much imagination to guess what the fleet T6 will look like.
Sure, would've been nice if they already had the 11th console (and fleet stats for that matter) but that's not how cryptic rolls.

Give it a shot, they' re srsly fun. Battlecloak (except fed), 4 forward weapons, lotus attack, 5 tac consoles, 'nuff said.
Curious on the status of the console, how much crit D and how much extra hull do they provide?
