Anyone still remember them, 3 of the original Tier 5 ships:
Star Cruiser, Deep Space Science Vessel and Reconaissance Science Vessel.
The Star Cruiser and the Deep Space Science Vessel are not based on any canon or licend material, the Recon is at least best on the Star Trek Titan novels that feature Riker's first full command on the USS Titan, a Luna class ship.
In the Pre-F2P days, all 3 got an additional ships, and post F2P, they also got a Mirror variant and a Fleet variant. But - we never saw any Refits or Retrofits of them like we got from the other original Tier 5 ships like the Advanced Escort, Patrol Escort and Assault Cruiser.
Are these design lines "aborted", e.g. there is nothing more common for them? Or is there a chance we see a Tier 6 version of them?
Star Cruiser
From the 3 ships, I really think I'd like to see a new Star Cruiser the most. The ships have a kinda "space whale" design, but in a good way, IMO.
Spiritually, they feel closer to the Galaxy than the Sovereign. I mean, they don't share many design patterns, except one aspect- an evolution of a rounded, softened shape, avoiding hard edges, and they overall don't feel as aggressive and militaristic as the Sovereign did, with a more "majestic" look.
We already got about a million cruiser variants already and I am really more a Science Vessel play style fan, but I think this is the Federation ship line I want to see continued the most and see updated to Tier 6.
Deep Space Science Vessel
The DSSV was always a bit a "space shoe". It was together with the Patrol Escort (back in the days, Fleet Escort) one of the ships that broke most with established design patterns. At first sight, I think it was mostly ugly.
There isn't really anything else in the current STO science vessel line up that gets that feeling.
Still, overall I think I felt that you could make an interesting and good looking DSSV, with a bit of ktibashing.
Recon Science Vessel
The RSV seems the closest to traditional Starfleet ship designs. It looks like the basic cruiser - you got the saucer section, the engineering section, and the nacelles, all in a highly visible package.
Yet, I found it ultimately always failed. No matter how I kitbashed it, I always hated aspects of it,t he worst part probably being those ugly deflectors/engineering section. That never worked for me. A bit of a shame that something this close to being a canon ship model just doesn't work for me.
But maybe that's another reason to see the design continued - maybe one of the current STO ship artists can make the Recon shine.

Try the fleet version for a DSSV you'll love..in the past, I got yelled at in ISEs for not giving my 'escort' dhcs XD
As to a t6 version...to me all t6 represents is a new grind mechanic, where now you have to grind for the ability, than merely equipping a console with said ability on it - like consoles of the past, now you buy the ship to get a shiny trait that you'll drop to the side once you level it, kind of like consoles of the past where you'd strip the console and plug it in your current ship
the new anvenger looks a lot like a hybrid of the starcruiser, sovereign and the avenger.
to answer your question:
basically those ships have fleet versions and so they are t5u capable.
only iconic ships get their t6 re-re-retrofit.
I wouldn't take that as granted. They are the best first candidates, but - the Veteran got a Tier 6 variant now, too (of course, it's "kinda" free, and kinda absolutely not). Whatever else it is, it's definitely not an iconic ship.
And it looks as if we get a Tier 6 Avenger and the KDF equivalent, too, which aren't iconic ships either.

Yeah, the DSSV really can look like an escort, especially if you omit the lower deflector.

It's more than that to me. The console and trait are nice to have, but the real asset they bring are the new costumes. Sure, they are costly, compared to the pre-F2P costumes we could get in the C-Store, but that doesn't stop me from wanting them. They are perfect for my kitbashing needs. I like to fly my own, personal hero ship, and that means it must stand out a bit from the "regular" ships.

Personally I think it would make sense to remove the old T5 ship designs from the "prime" Starfleet and change mirror terran ships to those designs. Those three, the escorts and the Typhoon and Jupiter could remain in the game this way and feature a mirror empire Starfleet that evolved differently.
Of course I don't say take them away from players. But I doubt there will be refits of them, I think Geko wants to rip anything "old" out of the game, basically.

"That pig smelled horrid. A sweet-sour, extremely pungent odor. I showered and showered, and it took me a week to get rid of it!" - Robert Justman, appreciating Emmy-Lou
I believe all three are in sore need of refit versions. Since the third month of the game (where they received their new 4th skin) they haven't have any love. They sorely need it.
According to a Priority One interview of Al Rivera (at the unveiling of Delta Rising), Al Rivera said there would be some love coming from the Nebula and Luna classes.
I myself am a huge proponent of the Luna-class Reconnaissance Science Vessel getting a Tier 6 refit. I wouldn't begrudge the star cruiser and DSSV getting it first because they need it just as much.
While I think I was lucky to have one of my favorite ships put in STO right at launch of the game, the Luna-class was part of the rushjob that made STO a reality. The Vesta may have been 2 years late, but it's had the loving care in design that the Luna never got (heck, the Vesta is another book-ship just like it, but it was made into 3 variants). It's aged terribly badly and its model is really not all that accurate to the original inspiration.
I know Sean Tourangeau has quibbles with the sensor dish on the rollbar, but I don't give a particular damn about that. It's the ship 3 decades after it was created. I didn't mind some changes. But in some other places it just looks clumsily built. For example, in the saucer's underside, the secondary hull is supposed to join up with it in an arrow-shape... but what we got was just a blunted bridge leading up to the ventral sensor dome. Meh.
What I personally love about the Luna-class is its silhouette. It's very classical and reminds me of the frigate in Starfleet Command I/II. If there would be a refit, I'd prefer it keep its proportion. Like, perhaps stick to inspirations like the Tempest's saucer, a streamlined Phantom-like rollbar, a neckless Odyssey-like stardrive section with similar shuttlebay/arrow-head leading to sensor dome, Aventine-class-like deflector, and nacelles like the Regent-class with a bit of Thunderchild in them held on pylons that would be slightly lower so to avoid being in the way of the saucer's impulse exhaust.

That is definitely good to hear, I've always loved the Nebula and really want her to get the Andromeda treatment.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

so expect a sovy, defiant, nova maybe.
everything else will only come if they run out of money grabs.

The other two, I wouldn't miss.
A 3pk with updated Rhode Island (Pilot), Nebula (Command), and Luna (Intel) would be an interesting option.
