As long as the new Traits are not built in the same lag-inducing way as the old Traits adding new ones means nothing to the game.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
Dammit Tacofangs, why aren't you fixing lag faster? You spend all day painting flowers like it's your job or something!
Your sarcasm is obvious, and I know you get it. But for those that don't, it's like this:
Imagine the restroom was out of order at your favorite restaurant. Yes, it would be really annoying; especially if you have to go. But saying "stop cooking food until the restroom is fixed!" makes no sense, because the people working in the kitchen aren't the people who are going to fix the bathroom. Sure, a good business would get that done sooner rather than later, but the point is the same either way.
Cryptic has stated multiple times the causes of the lag and that they are working on it.
You are the one not listening to the Devs.
Is there a sticky on the subject in this forum?
If not, there should be.
Releasing that info on twitter or reddit is insufficient. Only a tiny minority of players become aware of it, typically the same players who are already prone to being tolerant of the issue.
The vast majority of users are not turning to twitter, reddit, or even arc for news.

True but many players have mentioned on multiple threads about what the Devs have said.
And instead of coming on the forums and looking for a thread in which case they would learn about the news they make new threads even though there are already multiple threads on the subject and most of those threads are emotionally fuelled rants saying "Fix lag or else!".

So they should just make a sticky already, and refer people back to that when closing the rant threads.

(Hits head against wall).....No one listens to us........
Speak for yourself.
The recent optimizations have this game running smooth as silk for me. I don't know what your issue is, but I can assure you it doesn't effect everyone.
Ever since the Command Ship fix and the re-doing of the back end mechanics of certain bridge officer powers, I very rarely see even a trace of lag anymore. Sorry that the fixes haven't helped you, but they're definitely doing things to improve game performance. They have been for quite some time now.

LOL, it's hilarious but it's true.
Do you remember when the Sarr Theln released, it's trait in combination with certain other traits lagged out everyone in the instance into a point of SNR and eventually disconnects? That was glorious.
YOU FIX THE God DAM LAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is all.....................................................................

Because the people working on ship development are oh so the same people working on coding and systems.... oh right they aren't, so new ships have no bear on whether the lag is being worked on or not.

But saying "stop cooking food until the restroom is fixed!" makes no sense, because the people working in the kitchen aren't the people who are going to fix the bathroom.
And therefore you don't enter the kitchen and demand they stop cooking, and start working on the restroom. Instead, you talk to the boss-man, and say, "Please, a little less hiring of cooks, and a wee more of people that can fix the plumbing."
And therefore you don't enter the kitchen and demand they stop cooking, and start working on the restroom. Instead, you talk to the boss-man, and say, "Please, a little less hiring of cooks, and a wee more of people that can fix the plumbing."
And if that additional plumber is not within the budget, unless those cooks can keep serving meals?
Or be sane, read a few the many existing threads, understand that the devs are working on lag and have in fact fixed some of the problems that caused lag.
Nahhh, sanity's overrated. FLAME! RAGE! FLAME! LISA NEEDS BRACES!

Are you honestly blind?

The people who make ships aren't the same people who fix the lag. It's so simple, even (some) children could understand it. Yet...you don't seem to.

I sincerely hope this is simply a poor attempt at sarcasm, and not a case of not using your brain.

If they did make a sticky do you really think anyone will take a moment to read it?
Threads like this will still pop up all the time.
metaphysics aside, new ships are sellers. just another shiny.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

It's a catch 22...
That and VERY few resturants have a plumber on staff, that gets sourced out to a contractor who is repaid over time.
We come in peace, SHOOT TO KILL!
