Pilot Skills

tarrynrextarrynrex Member Posts: 77 Arc User
I'm just about to start setting up my pilot ships on a few toons and was wondering if anyone has used these skills and can help me decide between them:

Which of these have you used? Coolant Ignition, Reinforcements Squadron

Are these any good? These are the ones that look best on the list of skills or am I best just leaving these for the tac high end skills anyway.

Also, Form up, Reroute Weapon Reserves and Subspace Boom look alright.

Any suggestions please?

only good skills are hold together, attack pattern lamda, and maybe pilot team. The rest are dumb fragile channel abilities or have long cds for a few seconds of effect

Yeah I really tried to find something useful in pilot abilities...but, nothing really stood out to me, they seem a little gimmicky tbh.
I like the classic abilities best I guess.

But... pilot ships are indeed a blast to fly. Loving my Icarus.

Cryptic really screwed the pooch on specialization. They pumped all the damage-enhancing abilities in intel (since it was the first; the skills themselves don't have a "intelligence" theme at all) and left command and pilot with semi-useful or invalidated (due to meta) gimmick skills and probably wonder why they don't sell as well.

Judging by the amount of Pilot Ships I see ingame, I don't think they sold badly.

Kind of hard for them to sell badly when 1, they're the only other ships released since the Delta Rising Pack that aren't cruisers (and as far as escort-equivalents went there was only the Delta Trio: Phantom, Faeht, and Mat'ha), and 2, they have a 5 Fore setup and an impressive Specialist ability with Pilot Maneuvers.

The only other ship that comes close to matching them in the current bracket is the Vaadwaur Manasa, which previously was considered the top-level Escort at T6 alongside the Delta Escort trio (which had the advantage of being used for vape builds, but didn't have a 5th Fore).

So is there perhaps a call for the devs to redistribute the powers over the specialisations? As Intel got some that are not intel related. Maybe they could balance this out before we get more specialisations?

So, from what most of you guys have said, the Commander skills are a bit meh, and I'd be better off with the Tac ones up the high end with maybe some other pilot skills at the low end.

Seems a bit strange that they would give a Commander slot and Lieutenant slot for pilot skills in pilot ships, but this way I'll have plenty of space for the skills that you all agree are the better ones.
