Destabilized Resonance Beam.

Perhaps someone in the know can answer these questions, or even better can we get a dev response of them.

Destabilized Resonance Beam is a deflector ability but doesn't seen to be affected by deflector cooldown doffs. Is this working as intended?

Also, as a deflector ability what class of secondary deflector should affect this ability? And is this working as intended or not? I only ask because most other science abilities get some sort of secondary deflector proc chance but this ability seems to lack anything of the sort?

    I'm not sure why Deflector doffs do not affect the power, perhaps the damage output would be come too great aka unbalanced.

    The power is listed on the Deteriorating Secondary Deflector. Not sure if it is working.

    Destabilized Resonance Beam is a deflector ability that works with Deteriorating secondary deflectors.Same deflector to use if you like drain abilities like Tykens, Tachyon beam ,or E Siphon.It is working..

    Even If it did work with the deflector doffs the cool down on it is stupid long...

    Yes but if it did work with the deflector doffs at least this "stupid long" CD would be somewhat reduced, making the ability more available.

    I find it to be a deadly and highly useful ability on my tac/sci build, I just wish it worked more in line with existing science abilities so it was on a similar footing.

    I just use AHOD. It usually takes DRB down to less than a min.

    Not all deflector abilities are affected by diff reduction. A big example is TBR. Assuming it's a balance issue, or just the fact that DRB came much later.

    TBR and tractor beam do not belong to the deflector system, but to the "tractor system" according to sto wiki: http://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Tractor_Beam_Repulsors

    Haha, so true.

    I say upset them even more! I'm sick of every single fight you end up in being easily solved by just spamming BFAW at the enemy. It does way too much damage and has literally no downsides to its use.

    Science abilities should at least be on a similar footing in that they either have the same potential damage or can be used regularly enough to be effective on a team level when combined with other more offensive abilities.
