Multi-Vector Escort T5-U?

So I just got back into the game a few weeks ago after a multi-year break. I upgraded my multi-vector escort and have been using it to complete some episodes and missions solo. None of the T6 models I could buy appeal to me.

Am I wasting my time with this escort? Should I get one of the T6 ships now?

I also own the Multi-Vector, and have considered many times upgrading it to T5-U, most recently just two days ago I considered it again...

I would have if I liked its BOFF layout more than I do. If it had a layout like the Mirror Patrol Escort I'd have upgraded it on the spot!

As for its performance, I do have a T5-U Armitage (I know, it isn't the same, but it is also a T5 starfleet escort), and I still use it.

I'm just unimpressed with the Phantom, sure it kicks backsides left and right, but I just don't like it much...

Haven't tried the Pilot ships, they probably are great ships, I'm just not interested in them.

If you like your multi-Vector, I'd say keep it there's little difference between a T5-U and a T6. Just one BOFF ability, specialist seating, and maybe a console slot.

I could be forgetting a thing or two, but seriously if you like your T5-U Multi-Vector use it!

Oh, this year's summer event ship the Ferengi Nandi can be obtained with just 25 short daily missions and would be able to compare* with the performance of an escort, if you want to try a T6 without having to pry open your wallet. :)

*Technically it's a 'warship' which is about half-way between cruiser and escort, still properly built it could play the role of either.

The Prommy is a good ship, especially if you use two weapon types on it (e.g. 3DHC, 1Torp/DBB) so as to make full use of the tactical seating, it's only real downside is the pivot point. If they moved it forward so the back of the ship followed the front rather than the front being pushed round by the back it would be a much better ship.

As to whether or not to upgrade, sure, if you later get the fleet version of the ship the upgrade for that will also be free and then you'll have one console slot more than a base T6 ship. Ultimately you should fly what you like rather than what's top of the range.

It is still my go to Fed Escort, if they make a T6 version I would snag it too.

I consider the Fleet T5U MVAE a solid investment.

I would say the T6 Icarus is the only alternative I would consider.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

Fly what you want, a passion for a ship is more important than the stats or how old is is for me.

I have my Nebula for 2 years now, it's my main sci ship. Upgraded to fleet and T5U. For most players the Nebula is old, under-performing, etc. But I LOVE this ship and with my passion for it, I was able to do 35K DPS with it, still working on a new build so I might push this further.

Don't buy a ship that will finish as a inventory rack 3 months later.

So if you love your Multi-vectors escort, go for it, upgrade it to fleet and T5U

i still got my Free one from the story, it's one ship I can't bring myself to discharge, even though it is difficult to play with given no upgrades etc.

If they update it, I'll probably consider buying one, but otherwise, I'll wait until I have spare fleet modules.

There's better, newer stuff these days. But if you took the MVAE to T5U, it's still a rock solid SCI-Scort. Cmdr TAC, LtCdr SCI, 5 TAC Consoles. Still a good foundation.

I use a T5U MVAE for my Delta Recruit, who is a science officer. My favorite thing to do in combat is to activate MVAM, Photonic Fleet, and Nimbus Pirate Call all at once. Instant armada! :D
    After only 4 months, 19 weeks, 134 days, it's here. It's real!
