That utter smugness you feel, when you've finally upgraded/built up your ship to the point of being able to take on those god forsaken Nukara Recluse 1 on 1 and come out on top without breaking a sweat. Then you get so worked up and ignore the crystalline entity altogether and start hunting down those recluse one at a time to vent your anger for all these months of frustration.
Anyone feel the same way?
I think I rank the Recluse as the more irritating ship of all time. It just seem deceptively small but with FAR too much HP.
Tholians remain my number 1 choice for most annoying enemy to fight.
Give me Hirogen with SNB attacks, Voth with science spam and Vaadwaur with arty spam. None of them compares to a Tholian spamming out weapon subsystem attacks, debuffs, web abilities and tractors.
They're just as bad on the ground because they never stay still!
So yes, when it get's to the point I can steamroll them it is most gratifying.
I've tried taking my delta recruits into Crystalline - advanced and I feel so useless. I'm still working on getting good gear and to upgrade it but atm I'm just an embarrassment to the team.
Tholians are super easy, if you're hitting them with science and have Nukara 2pc. Keeping on the move with lots of AoE damage keeps their annoying stuff at bay.
Though, if you're focusing on the Tholians in CCA you're doing it wrong.
I don't like fighting the Borg. My shields are gone after the first shot.
My little tac-captain with a big stomach still wins the day, he's using a Fleet Experimental Science ship with 5 embassy and 4 spire consoles so I end up winning at the end, but still shields are gone after the first shot every time.
Tholians, I just spam BFAW, run in a circle and watch them die. But I do not use macros.
Galavant!

I am the other way around with my Engineer main. He can tank really well and rarely gets below probably 20% health. Flying the Samsar with all passive heal traits and well, he can survive about anything. Tholians and their annoying disables though really irk me.

I run the FESV too, it's a great ship. Though I suffer the same problem against the Borg too. And I agree, they're the worst.
Change the AI so all NPCs don't target one ship, or don't let the effect stack, or buff power insulators and have the skill scale appropriately with aux power. That's all I want for Christmas lol.
But the greatest enemy of all is probably the input lag.

While it mostly depends on what i am flying the only opponents which seriously annoy me are the nicor and bulwark.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Sometimes I like to test the durability of a new ship by taking on the 4 or 5 tholians that camp out to the far upper right side of the map. If I can defeat them before the entity is destroyed then the ship passes muster or relish.

I have no idea what you could mean, my ship is not anywhere near the point of being adequate for overpowered bosses! Everyone just calm down and back away slowly and so that you do not wake the "kill the witch" crowd!

It snot fun dealing with those bubbles unless you're running the whole CC set.
Those don't bother me, a little hazard emitters, engineering team and, attack patter omega will calm anything the Undine throw out as control abilities.
All you need worry about really, is their annoying disappearing tricks and, the overall dmg they inflict!
There are a few stand-out moments in the game that for me at least, said "I've done it!"
Borg Red Alert - the first time I did it with only one extra person and I thought - MY GOD that was fun. Doing one by myself - that was an eye opener.
Tholian Red Alert - the first few time I swore the game was out to get me. And then when I understood the value of tactics, suddenly the Tholians were little more than annoying mosquitoes against my hull.
i hate fighting tholians because they constantly disabling my weapon systems. i do not have the time to grind out the various rep pieces for the ship so i accepted the consequences, in otherwords i just gave up on fighting tholians because their proc is so frequent.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
The most annoying enemy NPC I've found to be the Voth Citadel ships, especially when taking them on solo.
I can just about solo them with my Pathfinder in the contested zone once i've cleared off their support mobs. But that annoying "teleport you into a grav well" attack really drives me nuts.
I don't even have a problem with their immunity shield as most of my attacks come front shield bypassing partigen damage anyway, but that teleport attack....grrrrr!
Once you take one of those out solo you feel quite proud.
The voth have never registered on my annoyingness radar.
The tholian weapon drain gets a 3/10
The Borg shield drain gets 4/10
Hearald Solar gateway 3/10
The Undine snot+oneshot is awarded 8/10
However the cowardly cloaking Romulan in old fleet alert gets full marks 10/10.

actually, good point there.........we don't need them doubling the Hp of these thing. I retract my smugness.

I was actually just making a funny.

Or soloing the end boss on ground missions...
All great moments.
