Places to build sandcastles

khamseenairkhamseenair Member Posts: 2,640 Bug Hunter
We asked for it last year and it didn't happen but I'll go ahead and ask again this year. Please, either add more locations to build them, or at the very least make it so completed sand castles don't hang around nearly as long. With instances of 40-50 players fighting over them, it's a real pain.

Last year the demand for spaces died down quickly once people realised how few favours it paid out, but now that it awards 20 (50 during bonus) it's proving quite popular.

Agreed! More spaces would be best. But if you can't do that, then make the castles dissolve a bit sooner. It's rough on folks just starting out when you have to -earn- the ability to kick over an existing castle. (Or just give everyone that ability from the start, perhaps.)

As I've learned recently, there are more spots if you go farther out. However the trick is the timer. Possibly a second and/or third castle guy on different beaches would be worth adding? like one out by the bonfire, and one on the smaller north island?

That would spread people out, plus make the extra existing spots more use able.

Agreed. With all the beachfront the resort islands have, it's ridiculous that there's only these few places to do it.

I have to agree here although the time between being able do them is short it is kinda annoying having to wait to try to get in when loads are trying at same time.

FYI, you CAN build sandcastles early, and then turn it in when the event starts. You'll still get the bonus favors.

As a courtesy I destroy any existing unattended sand structures I come across so other players have a free open slot to build on.

Same. And once it is completed you don't have all that long really to kick it back over again.

As with races, it is best to shop an instance with very few people and camp a spot or choose a time when there are not as many players.

you can strop around all over them to knock them down almost as soon as they are done.

After you unlock that ability. By building sand castles.

It's not a perfect method, but if you go and accept the mission while the powerboard race is on, there are almost always free spaces. Then just wait for the sandcastles to start. Obviously means you can't do the powerboard race tho!

Go to the change instance screen, pick the one with fewest players, build sandcastle.

Alternatively, build sandcastle outside the event timer, and only turn in when the event's on.

Follow these two tips, and you'll never have any sandcastle worries.
