I started playing sto a little before it became f2p. I played for a couple of months but i got a bit bored and pretty much quited it. Now id like to continue playing but theres years of gap and stuff i missed, how you advice i should proceed?

I have a 50lvl fed with a the best ship i could get at the time (got lucky and got it a little before they stopped giving it as rank reward)

Well, with the Summer event on Risa starting tomorrow, I'd start there. It's fun, and it'll let you earn a brand new state of the art T6 ship (after some grinding).

Check the latest blogs for details on the event and ship.

The game has changed so much from when you left, I would honestly recommend starting a new character. Not because there is anything wrong with your old character, because there isn't. However, if I had been gone as long as you, I think it would just be fun to rediscover the game and get the full experience from start to finish.

After not playing for two years, I just made a new character. I came back in time for the Delta Recruit event, so that helped a lot. Even without the event, I still would have done the same. Now I almost barely have an idea of what I'm doing. My Fleet helps a ton. When I have questions, most of the time someone has an answer.

I was thinking of making a new char too, i will play a bit with my old char for now, to see what changed. I might had returned for a few days when the duty officer system was introduced im not sure when that was though.

Earn Dilithium ore; at least enough for a couple days' refining capacity. Find a good fleet. Start R&D bonus xp projects in Beams or Ground Weapons. Play Normal PvE queues to earn the full variety of reputation marks so you can get reputations started (you want at least 30 of each kind for starters).
DPS-Bronze, DPS-Silver, DPS-Gold, etc. are FAKE! They were created by an outvoted minority who destroyed the original DPS channels!

Tactical Team sucked, once upon a time. I got it buffed. Don't think for a minute that Cryptic ignores forum feedback.
