buffing concussive tachyon emission when playing sci or eng

with my tac i can get this thing to do 1100+ damage to most things in range, but i have no real idea how to get any significant boost for this ability using sci or eng.

suggestions?

Combine it with other powers. Orbital strike (stationary or chasing) on an unshielded target inflicts massive damage. Even shieldpenetrating abilities inflict more damage (like most sci-debuff-attacks).

Think more about those lines when not playing tac. For tac the CTEmission is the end of an combo, for the other classes its the beginning or near beginning (sci should obviously use Tricorder scan as the beginning of its combo).

As sci you can use tricorder scan, nanoprobe infestation and dampening field (doffed with a biochemist) to debuff. Not sure if exposing helps.

As eng...let's see....well, who needs that stuff, if one has mortars and mines :)

Exposing helps everyone to be perfectly honest. It isn't as comparatively huge as it used to be, but it's still a useful boost to damage. Quite a few sci powers have an expose effect built in, stuff like "tachyon harmonic" (a shield stripper and potentially an exposer, which afaik also benefits from the biochemist?! I'll take it!).
A doffed electro-grav field is also very useful. It essentially becomes a ground based grav well! (geologist doffs iirc). Bunch them up, add in some aoe stuff too and BOOM. They die quickly.

I don't think you can buff that power directly (In fact, I've never used it or seen it used), but you can increase its effectiveness indirectly.
    I need a beer.

Yes, the doffed electrogravitic field is great and I use it on all of my scis. It is geologists from the reinforcements duty officer packs. An yes, most sci powers except heals "apply" the biochemist debuff. The question was what buffs the tachyon emission. As sci you basically have only the chance to debuff and expose, which is imho good enough, but you won't get "20K" with the ability as sci (not that it would matter)

and I answered the question. Basically, you can't directly boost that damage outside of skill point allocations (possibly). The only way to boost the damage is to use CC and AOE powers to get them all nice and close together as well as debuffed so the thing does a bit more damage, albeit indirectly rather than a direct buff.

Engy and Sci approach how they do things in game differently of course. Eng can give a direct boost to C T emission, weapons and orbital attack with doffed equipment diagnostic. 50 for 30 secs. (Purple). With up to 3 doffs for 150. Doesn't seem much but helps a lot.
