Sooo, too bad I didn't get a better thread going about the kit modules when I posted that thread a few weeks back...

Because a whirlpool for science or healing waves would have been better then another gravimetric style ability...in fact the healing waves is needed I think we don't have enough aoe heal type abilities for science ground instead of triage as a DH it coulda have been a HOT heal instead with some kinda cleanser as well...

It most likely will be the same cost of stuff in a varying degree to what the other winter kit modules where...

as an fyi, the iconians hate cold.

Yeah, I was glad they put in kit modules -- even if they didn't go with any of our suggestions. I look forward to getting the Hurricane generator on my engineers. I enjoyed my Weather-controlling characters in City of Heroes/Villains.

Caracal Bratwurst is great to grill. The meat is so lean and rich in flavor. The more they scream going into the grinder, the tastier they are.

    So a couple things.

One: I am totally getting my Vaporeon (I mean Caracal) ASAP once this goes live. Because they're adorable and cuddly and I want one. I mean all.

Two: I didn't make the Magnum PI connection until it was posted in this thread. So thanks all for that. Now I need some bleach to get that out.

why on EARTH would you want to bleach out the image of young Tom Selleck showing off his abs and his 'stache? that was a seriously sexy man :D

and OMG those caracals are the cutest things....seriously i can feel my blood sugar rising as i type x3

this blog saved the summer event for me, i was actually thinking of not attending this year because the ship didn't interest me as much as the previous risian ships

Oh, probably a dumb question, but is that all the Caracal types represented on the dev blog?

For the Risian Birdies there was a nice big graphic with all the types and colors in a nice chart format.

If I want a Caracal I'd like to see every option there is so I know what to aim for, since I really do not have the room for all of them and will likely grind up unwanted Caracals into Eevee Sausage.

While I can't say for certain whether or not we'd add more in at a later date, these are the Caracal options which will be available when the Summer Event starts up.

I'd suggest more of a Chorizo-style seasoning, myself.

So, four options? Good, good. If anybody wants to save the Caracals, I will take 80 Lockbox Keys to get rid of 4 stacks of lockboxes in my bank to make room for them.

Spare the Caracals, send me keys.

Otherwise, time to fire up the grill and go visit the spice rack.

Just take out the Risan Corvette, paint it red, print Robin 1 on the side, and you're good to go.

Or maybe the Risan Liner, orange base, yellow and brown stripes?

How dare you. Magnum drove a Ferrari, not a Corvette.

You have to purchase them because there are many choices, or would you like a random box of something that you probably already have dropped on you for a certain amount of event participation? Rewards are also generally a quid pro quo, you do something and you are rewarded. See definition 2. Perhaps you've confused reward with gift, or maybe you don't actually know the meanings of the words that you are using, but are somehow still trying to be pedantic?

nope not trying to be pedantic as you put it but when cryptic says something like this it could mean a number of things .

Will the costumes be available to be used in places other than Risa? Same with the boards will they work like the frosted boots and can be used in social zones?

If the answer s yes, then I'll get them, if no, then I'll probably give them a miss. What's the point of grinding for something you can only use in one place during a limited run event?

Only items marked as (Off Duty) can be worn outside of Risa. (Swimwear) will still be restricted to Risa only, unless Cryptic changes their mind about it.

Powerboards are a definate *no*. They would have to go back through older maps and rework them to make sure powerboard/floater use doesn't run into problems such as getting stuck on something in the environment, putting roofs on buildings since some maps don't have them because you don't see the tops of buildings anyway, etc. If they ever allowed powerboards/floaters to be used off Risa it would have to be completely new maps that are created with them in mind. It's just too much work and not worth their time and resources to fix up old maps.

And they should rethink this policy since Orion females are an obvious double standard, and people are frequently using exploits to use swimwear elsewhere anyway.

I'm not a big fan of non combat pets, but i'm definitely goining to get a Caracal for some of my captains.

Does that include the swim wear, I swore I saw someone on the Klingon Academy wearing swimwear a couple of weeks back.

I saw a few people on the Klingon Academy a few weeks ago wearing it. Maybe it was a bug. But I really don't see the point of restricting cloths to particular zones. They are no more revealing than the Federation Mirror Uniform (FED TOS) stuff or the Orion (KDF) costumes.

    It occurs to me...
      The
    Hurricane Generator...
    • Is it a stationary pet radiating an AoE pulse effect?
      • How often does is pulse?
      • Is it shielded?
      • What is its radius?
      • Is there a maximum number of targets?
    • Is it based on the Generators skill as its name would imply, or the Turrets and Drones skill as a damage-dealing pet?
    • Does this clear any AoE fields (put out fires, wash off goo, etc.)?
      • And/or does it dissipate gas-type effects (Anesthezine, Pheromones, Smoke, etc.)?
    • Will it benefit from any doff interactions?
    • What about [Mods] like [PsiDmg]/[PsiDoT]?

    The Seismic Agitation Field...
    • Is this basically an "Earth-type" version of Endo/Exothermic Induction Field?
Will it prevent you from slotting the "
      Fire-type" and "Ice-type" versions?
    • Does it benefit from doffs related to those abilities?
        Or any doffs at all?
[*]Does it affect targets that are not actually on the ground, such as Drones or Swarmers, or Herald Constructs when they are doing their "levitate" animation?
    • Or the Borg Queen and Herald Harbingers when they're floating about!?!
[*]Does this benefit from [Mods] such as [PsiDmg]/[PsiDoT]?

    The Graviton Spike...
    • So, what Skill actually affects this?
      • Is the pull affected by Tactics, and the damage affected by Weapons/Specialist, since it's a modified weapon attack and not a Grenade?
      • Or is this considered a pseudo-Grenade like Polaron Bombardment?
        • Wait, is this a -Repel version of a Photon Grenade?
    • What's the radius on this one?
    • Is this affected by any doff interactions?
    • Might this one benefit from [Mods] such as [PsiDmg]/[PsiDoT]?

Oh, and are these BtC on pickup, or can we just play the Event with the character we want to and transfer them over to the ones that could use the items for actual gameplay? I have to say, BtA and transferable would be vastly preferable, so that I can spend more time enjoying the Event and less time swapping alts just to get these on the "correct" character. Plus it would help sell Account Bank space. Just a thought. ;)

Can we please have account unlocks for reward costumes and uniforms like this? It's so frustrating having to choose which character gets which outfit, especially since I made six new Delta Recruits.

I agree please do. I have five chars, one of which is also a delta recruit. the currency rewards vs the prices and the time it takes to earn for all five chars is very time consuming.

Last year when swimwear was introduced there was a bug players found that allowed them to wear it off of Risa. The bug was fixed but Cryptic's policy is to not force player's outfits to change. As long as you don't modify the outfit you can keep it that way. The players in bikinis and speedos you see around the game probably created the outfit last year before the bug was fixed and never modified them, or they have found an exploit that allows them to use costume pieces they aren't suppose to have which has happened on multiple occasions (for example: I've seen a Federation Alien species player on Drozana once in an Orion bikini. Those costume pieces aren't suppose to be worn by anything but Orions.).
