Probably not. The Command Battlecruisers on the Fed side were largely designed to replace the Typhoon class. A lot of NPC Typhoons have been replaced by them already.

What was the equivalent of the typhoon on KDF side? What ship warps in when using fleet support 3?

A Negh'Var and a D'Deridex for Romulans I think. So logically, the Galaxy and variants should replace the Typhoon fleet support.

Ideally though I'd like to see a random combination of available non-specialist ships to come in as fleet support.

Vor'Cha, Negh'Var, Mogh or Vo'Quv for Klingons, D'Deridex and... I have no idea about Romulan ships aside from the D'D, they all look terrible XD and for starfleet Galaxy, Sovereign, Armitage and maybe Avenger.

Do they have sinilar powers as the typhoon? Typhoon's most prominent abilities are the tractor beam/repulsors and quantum torp spread and it's durability.
I don't think the NPC Galaxy is linked to those powers. But the Galaxy X might...

I don't think so, but if they change it (which they wanted to do according to borticus I think) they could change the reinforcement mobs since Negh'Var, D'D and Galaxy are now T6 with LTC tacs they could change the NPC mobs accordingly. I'd like to see them including Armitage/Vo'Quv and Ar'Kif mobs to the mix to get some carrier-type support and mabe a science heavy variant. I know that people probably already calculate their dps or whatever with the Typhoon support mob, but I'd welcome some more variety.

Command Cruisers currently do not replace Typhoons for Fleet Support or Photonic Fleet, however, they do in almost every other aspect, including models simply sitting there for ambiance, like at Drozana.

They do have powers similar to the Typhoon, actually.

They still use every Typhoon ability, including TBR, Torpedo Spread, Torpedo High Yield, etc.

But they also have 1 extra weapon they use on targets in front of them (dual cannons) and use the special Command Cruiser consoles, as well as launch fighters.

This thread almost belongs on the FCT list. Almost, if it was not for a tiny detail - the developers never actually answered any questions on this as far as I know.

There has been, AFAIK, no information on whether a playable Typhoon nor Jupiter Class ships have ever been considered.

There has. I think borticus told via inofficial channels (either reddit or even in-game chat, I saw the proof once) that the Typhoon gets phased out. No word on the Jupiter, although I assume the same. I cannot point to a source right now, though, but it is definitely linked in one of the many typhoon threads in the fleetyard section.

The new Command cruisers looks similar to one. I say make the Typhoon with updated graphics. And use some of the parts from the Command cruisers to make variations. Like the Nacelles, saucer, etc.

This is why I would love to get a Command cruiser since it looks like the Typhoon.

This would be great, If they added the Typhoon parts as a variant to the Command ships I'd settle for that.

This is why I'm surprised they didn't offer a Typhoon variation when they released them. The Concord looks just like one with some differences.

At this point they can just slap the Typhoon visuals on any ship they want and I'll fly it, I'd buy it as a ship costume any day without hesitation, I realise I'm beating a dead horse (Hah Pony joke)
but I just want to fly the typhoon.

There has been, AFAIK, no information on whether a playable Typhoon nor Jupiter Class ships have ever been considered.

In December 2012's Ask Cryptic, there was consideration of a playable Typhoon.

"Q: (cylon74656) Will the Steamrunner Class be available for those of us who don’t play through Steam? And also, when will we see the Typhoon Class playable in-game?

Dstahl: The Steamrunner Class is a Steam exclusive, so it will not be available in the C-Store. However, you do not need to play through Steam in order to purchase this item. If you have a Steam Account you can purchase the item through Steam and claim it in game without needing to play STO through the Steam client.

The Typhoon Class is a dreadnaught that will most likely not appear as a playable ship until we increase the skill point cap to full Admiral. Even then, we haven’t yet decided if this will be a player ship, but we can be convinced to make it so if there is enough support for it."

Of course, this was over 2 years ago and the skill point cap to full Admiral has occurred, but not in the way Dan Stahl thought at the time. So it is very likely that the Command Ships are Cryptic's answer to playable Typhoon ships.

As you said, three year old info under a different EP and from an employee that probably doesn't work at Cryptic anymore as well.

Most recent (yet inofficial) information according to this user is that the Typhoon goes Bye-Bye. If they follow that path, though, I don't like having the command ships as fleet support. Having a command ship warp in to support you seems odd.

If the Avenger was larger and longer and had the option for angled pylons plus the double-nacelle style of the Typhoon, I'd have taken it as a playable Typhoon. Heck it would have been nice if they did so for the rumored T6 Avenger that's going around, though I'm told it supposedly looks more like a warship version of the Pathfinder.

I'll even settle for a Typhoon-Odyssey half-breed: Basically an Odyssey without the double neck, having the saucer connect directly to the body, resulting in more of a Sovereign look, with the saucer lengthened front-back and slightly made taller. It would also have the Typhoon's double nacelles on each pylon, with each pylon shortened to bring the nacelles closer closer into the body, and the body itself slightly thicker in the rear. Would still closely match its side profile and size roughly relative to the Odyssey, but in modern detailing.

At this rate though, it's more likely we'll only get playable Jupiters; serving as supercarriers (3 hangars and the ability to launch Defiant "Frigate" pets). Though I would be plenty happy if it's a 3 pack; a 3 Hangar Sci variant (3/3), a BFG-wielding Eng variant (4/4 and 1 or no hangars), and a Phaser Barrage-capable Tac variant (4/4 1,2, or no hangars; Polaron Barrage-style ability, but explicitly only firing to the left or right of the ship depending on where the target is; as a massive broadside. Would require strategic positioning).

Make the Jupiters a 9 pack bundle with Rom and KDF equivalents and Cryptic will have my 120 USD (or 60 USD if it's just Jupiters). They'd also have an additional 60 USD if they did a Typhoon Battleship bundle (Rom and KDF originals) as well, or at least, 30 USD if they only did a Typhoon. I'm fully willing to pay.

Non of the command ships look like the Typhoon at all, they look like Excelsiors crossed with Chimeras with duel nacelles.

Well since the Typhoons are being phased out, perhaps we can pretend Cryptic might introduce the Typhoon as Command Ship costume.

I think the probability of the Typhoon being it's own full ship no longer exists sadly :C

And crossed with an Oberth; which was basically nacelles, pylons, and saucer with a mission hull strapped underneath.

I was never fond of the Oberth and Excelsior designs either.

The only reason I can tolerate the Tac variant is because it at least has the diamond/triangular saucer (one of the main reasons I love the Prometheus, and also draws me to the Odyssey and Guardian designs; though Guardian's comes to a point, rather than being a triangular saucer).

I love the Typhoon's design; the rounded shape of the secondary hull, and the non-vented nacelles. It makes the whole think look thick and sturdy as hell; like it was carved out of one big block of duranium.

I wish it wasn't being replaced, The Typhoon is one of Cryptic's best designs certainly more fitting than the Guardian or the Eclipse.
