I've been playing this game off and on since around 2012. I've greatly enjoyed it, have spent an aweful lot of money on it, and have enjoyed every second/every penny spent.
I just recently came back to try out Delta Rising, and have been working on my main captain. Is it me, or is leveling from 50-60 a great deal slower then 1 - 50. The pace of 1 - 50 seemed okay, if not a bit fast, but I literally spent four or five hours doing STFs, old missions I never did, and a mix of DOFFing, and didn't even manage to get half a level.
So I guess the question is, does anyone have any tips on the most effective way to level? I can't seem to keep pace with the features episodes, so I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.
Leveling 50-60 takes the amount of time it takes from going 1-50, at least that's the intention behind it. Only tip I can give is don't sweat it. Today, my main hit 60 by "accident" - via doffing. I didn't pay attention at leveling at all after DR hit and at some point it happens. Grinding out spec points is in no way necessary and in fact unless they finished the whole specialization system you don't want to spend them anyways until you know all the specializations because it is impossible to respec.
Don't let the notion of people having 12 alts claiming they "have to grind them all" pressure you.

"No. Men do not roar. Women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects... and claw at you." -Worf, son of Mogh
"A filthy, mangy beast, but in its bony breast beat the heart of a warrior" - "faithful" (...) "but ever-ready to follow the call of the wild." - Martok, about a Targ
"That pig smelled horrid. A sweet-sour, extremely pungent odor. I showered and showered, and it took me a week to get rid of it!" - Robert Justman, appreciating Emmy-Lou
>_>... My KDF main got her 60 in only a couple days... the good ole' Tau Dewa parties before massive nerf. My Ferengi.. is taking it easy. level 55 but i honestly do not remotely remember how i got from 5-55...
The Argala patrol is the most efficient, though the newish timegate on it makes it less so. Not to mention it is more boring than a conversation with Morn. Therefore I often alternate between it and a queue. Gotta grind for that Iconian Rep.
Also, and I first want to make clear that I entirely agree with OP, but does anyone else notice the irony of this thread being right next to the "Leveling is WAY too fast" thread that has been refusing to die for the last week?
As Zephram Cochrane once said, "That'll do, pig. That'll do." - April 1st 2015.

Yeah, I was told that shortly after Delta Rising, lots of stuff got an XP nerf due to specialization point gaining. Personally, I think they have overdone it a bit, but instead of complaining, I'm just going to grin and bear it. xD
At this point though, I'll only be leveling one character to 60. Before I'd have a KDF, a Rom and a Fed at cap.
Thanks everyone for the tips. Keep them coming if you have one not listed here.
Nope. 50-60 takes three times it takes from going 1-50.
More precisely:
50-55 = 1-50
55-60 = 1-50 x2
My bad, I didn't check the numbers. Thanks for the clarification.
It's hard to notice these days. Usually you turn 50 roughly halfway through the single player stuff. After I typed it out it seemed odd that 60 took that long, even considering I didn'teven try very hard.

when I was levelling from 50-60 I didn't even bother going to the delta quadrant, I just kept doing all the things I do usually, doffing, pve ques when you can get them and any of the missions from the available tab of the missions folder like aiding the deferi and such, even nimbus 3 and dyson stuff.
it took me about 2 weeks to get each of my 3 characters to 60, so about six weeks all together.
sure its a little longer then levelling to 50 but its supposed to be.
having said that getting to lv60 is not such a big deal, all it means is you can play the new missions unencumbered by level block but once you have done them what do you do ?
just go back to playing all the same stuff you did before - doffing, pve ques, aiding the deferi, nimbus 3, dyson stuff and so on.
so why the big rush for everyone I don't know, just so they could say they got there I think.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
Actually it's because I'm really enjoying the story they added, but can't progress until I hit the next level. Just a personal thing.
If it took just as long, but there were way more story missions to run, wouldn't be complaining at all.
yeah, its not so much the leveling rate as there isn't enough 50+ story missions to cover the distance.....they really should lower the level requirements a bit on the story missions (espeacially with the newer content coming in all requiring lvl60, there's really no need for that)
