Guy's i am trying to play the bug hunt elite's and all's i seem to find every damn time is rage quitters, or a guy that goes "afk" when he join's and expect's others to do the PVE without him.

I aint 1 to rage or nothing normally but enough is enough, i have never rage quit a PVE, even if i don't like it or enough player's i try to the end until the whole team has gone.

what i think is fair is that we need harsher punishment's for these clown's please cryptic do something about them or failing that find a new way that don't involve PVE's to claim iconian marks.

Hmm. Ground maps. How hard would it be to beam in one of the leader's away team if one of the party quits the mission? I mean a beam out not a DC.

meh, I did a borg alert, when the loading screen finished I found my self in the map with 3 t6 bfaw uber cruiser spacebar mashers, all of whom rage quit within 20 seconds, presumably because I wasn't in a t6 uber bfaw boat, then one after another 3 more arrived and left, add in the original 5th member of the 'team' who left before I arrived, and that's 8 people in 1 alert, 7 of whom rage quit without firing a shot. Nobody fired a shot, I was the only one to even start my engines.

You want 'punishments' for people in stf's who fail to stay and fight, I bet such a system would have punished me for watching 7 cowards quit, because I didn't try to take on several borg cubes alone in a t5.

Jut deal with it, if open queues with strangers bother you that much, don't play them.

As for claiming iconian marks without the stfs, a way already exists, buy a firearm, go to Kobali Prime and get your boots muddy in the damn trenches, hell you might see me there, just follow where I lead, and remember to duck now and then huh.

Stop Pugging and the problem is solved. PUGS in STO are NEVER good and only rarely passable. I say JOIN A FLEET or you dont get to complain. the FIX is that, join a fleet, learn what your doing and get into good channels with good players. T5 fleets are always recruiting, Im not even going to solicit mine. If you dont fleet up which is the ONLY solution to your dilemma, you really have no place to complain.

Wait... Kobali Prime awards Iconian Marks, rather than Delta Marks, now?

I sympathize. It sucks when that happens.

While I haven't experienced this on ground combat, I have in space. The only time I've quit an STF is when enough players left to make it painfully obvious that there is no way for the remaining players to pull out a win.

The last two missions on act 3 award a choice of delta marks + apc or iconian +core, select the missions at the mission replay console near the general, in town, there is a 20 hr cooldown on them, but... hanging around at the upper hillside base lets you replay in adhoc mode more often, just for the marks, by tagging along with others.

seriously, if there are 3-4 feddies chasing trash mobs and ignoring trops in korfez, or ignoring gates and whatnot, why should i let their stupidity earn me a cd?

Nice, that's good to know for those nights where players absolutely insist on clicking on the Syndicate Operative when he's at 0 hp.

Only in STO? Nah PUGS have always been bad in every mmo ive played and im about to hit the big 4-0 so ive played a few.

Join a fleet and save yourself the torture...

agreed, yet it seems that STO is especially unrewarding for PUG players...but it depends on the STF. Some are zero problem, and some are not doable at all.

Even on normal pugs it sometimes seems that 80% of the STO population is blind and/or trained monkeys.

worst game I ever saw for PUGs was Diablo2, but that had two aspects. 1: was that the HP of enemies was a function of the number of players in the game(I hated that design feature) 2: the game was stuck with free for all looting so that randoms could either steal the loot or maybe even PK you after you beat the boss.

Thing is people who quit like you..well disgust me, I have been playing this game, from when it first came out, and people who quit half way through spoil the game...plain and simple, not only that when the other's can't complete the mission you waste player's time/effort, time that people aint getting back, the devs should take note of constant rage quitters/padder's probably would not take a lot of tracing and give out harsher punishments. (and not victims of rage quitters)

Perhaps a honor system like in fractured space would sort people like you out.

To add, there should not be a time delay for player's where others have rage quit, as its not there fault other idiot's and trust me...i have harsher words to say if i wasn't going to be banned i would use them..

To add i am a fed, and i hold my own and most of the time win against klingon's both DPS, and PVP wise, it is the player not the faction..and there is no excuse for quitting halfway through plain and simple as that.

I was guilty myself of meandering around STF's FAW'ing away in an advaced escort like a blind mad man in season 6 ruining pug teams. Mostly cursed in chat by those I crossed. What made me fond of the game was the "teach it, don't preach it" methodology. There would be more advanced players showing me how the objectives are to be done. I ended up adding a few to my friends list, and over time learned a few build tricks.

I now have the same approach when I see a team that clearly needs guidance. granted, we won't get the optional, and they have to decipher my horrible grammer. It helps the community. They should after that point continue the game aware of what that mission requires. My hopes are that they spread the word. In my fleet we even posted links to youtube videos for ground STF walk throughs in our fleets site forum.

Not pugging works. But people have jobs, live in other time zones, etc. Sometimes the action is just a quick match que away.

The thing is, people like you, who seem to think you can tell others how to act and behave, disgust me.

Please try and get this through your head. YOU. DO. NOT. PAY. MY. SUB. When you are buying my Zen and paying my sub, then you can tell me how to play. Until then, when I roll into a situation that is full of derp, I'm out of there. I'm playing a game to have fun, and if it isn't fun then I leave.

Perhaps a honor system like in fractured space would sort people like you out.

Right, because that clusterfark system is TOTALLY unbiased and is going to be completely reset and is meaningless.

I've long argued that time-delays for AFK's and anyone else were completely pointless, as they'll simply do something else while 'penalized. Ergo, the only ones being punished are those who did nothing wrong.

Clearly the lockouts aren't stopping people from still trying this TRIBBLE.

there is no excuse for quitting halfway through plain and simple as that.

Someone else already called it -- if you want a good play experience, get with a fleet, otherwise you only have yourself to blame.

I refuse to carry afkers. I quit rather than reward their behavior. Also faster to just get a new Gateway To Grethor than to slog through the final boss solo...

I don't pay your'e sub nor would i,tbh, those who don't convert dil rather than SPEND a fortune on zen is well..idiotic Telling people what to do? no, but IN all seriousness, you want to talk fun..FINE, when a noob like you leave's (i would call somebody like you a person, but you really don't sound like one) you spoil the fun for other's as WELL, as well as your'e own..BUT hey play it the way you want you want to rage quit be my guest, but be warned, eventually SOMEBODY at cryptic will see i have a point, and you will do it to much..upto you (TRIBBLE)

Now, about this comment about "fleet and only me to blame" how on the gods green earth do you work that out, how is it MY fault that other's rage quit? I put do my fair share, just idiots rage quit, i would LOVE to know this or are you on crack or something?? now regarding my fleet, there is about 376 people in it..and is the best fleet i have been in, more or less instant access to fleet story's and had to put nothing..can most fleets say that, and do regularly STF, and Crystaline entity advanced..so can you come up with another excuse please for rage quitting like TRIBBLE's kk thx..

pugs are passable 90% of the time when people actually play, and even then I went through a lot of elites in 4 people just fine
I'm perfectly fine with anyone in pugs on one condition: be active, staying there just picking our loot... thats when I'm out of there and you're on my blacklist, because I WILL CHECK ALL PLAYERS when entering a pug and if you're on my ignore.... well there's no reason for me to take my chances, I'll excuse myself in front of the other players and also inform them we have a leech and ask them to reque

I commend you for pugging korfez in the first place. But its true alot of people in pugs, maybe not even intentionally dont know what theyre doing and dont bother to ask, or get pissed when people on the team provide feedback (not you suck youre an idiot but genuine "make sure you do x y and z")

The only time I've quit an STF is when enough players left to make it painfully obvious that there is no way for the remaining players to pull out a win.

I am forced to do this sometimes, if you get a team of all cruisers with low dps it can take painful length of time to get through even normal battles.

    Maybe replace the 'leaver's punishment'?

The first time is free? If you leave two consecutive times, for any reason, you get barred for 24hours? And another 24 hours for every time after that until you have completed a task force one way or another.

It provides some grace for "no win" scenario. Which, btw, I do not believe in. I believe a scenario that is no win is quickly lost, or it just the excuse we tell our selves so we don't have to try and can blame others to make our selves feel better for not trying.

Being slammed with a 24hour lockout for not even trying because "Those idiot noobs that clearly aren't up to my standard of perfection!" should quickly fix the problem of rage quitters or AFKs problem because it demands the one thing the attitudes behind it do not have: Patience.

    -OR-

*gasp* *Shock!* It might encourage people to stop casting blame and pointing figures long enough to learn basic people skills and kindly teach "Those idiot noobs that clearly aren't up to my standard of perfection!" a few things.

Seems to me there are also fewer players that offer help to those inexperienced at a new queue; not surprised if fewer "good players" are bothering with public queues anymore.

First time through one of the new Iconian queues (think it was Gre'thor), I just did what seemed to make sense. Second time through, someone actually offered a few tips; followed their lead, and we all completed it - including the optionals.

Might be a case of "you get what you play for"...
