Anybody out there in "S T O" heard about a team of star trek actors backing a new pilot for a series called Star Trek Renegades. Go to "star trek renegades" website, and you can read all about it there! They need financial backing $200,000! They are almost there just a few Dollars more. If they are successful it could result in a new star trek TV series. I've pledged $25, but if they don't reach their target you will not be debited. So come on all you STO fans, lets see whats out there!!
Many shows in the ST universe have been pitched but none will ever see the flicker of a TV set. The sad truth about television programing today is that even with a property like ST, with a huge built-in audience, you can't replicate the profits of a "reality" show about a bunch of drunken half-wits trash-talking and slapping each other with a negligible production costs attached to it.

ya look at so called syfy ghost this ghost that or just some type of reality show sad thing is sci fiction like star trek is a dying genre
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
Okay no offense to the original poster, but this is more than a little misinformation.
This is in no way intended to start a new TV Star Trek series, if you thoroughly read the information on their website it says: "We, the team who brought you Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, are proud to announce Star Trek: Renegades, a professionally produced television pilot to be presented for a possible online series."
Now for a bit more information:
James Cawley is RetroFilms and for anyone that's a fan of web series they produce the "Star Trek: New voyages/Star Trek Phase 2". They're a nice little fan-dom group with some outrageously beautiful recreated sets from the original series and I believe these were the sets used primarily in the "Star Trek: Of gods and men" movie.
To give credit where credit is Due, Cawley has had a number of small parts throughout the official Treks as well.
Now to be totally fair, this is a Fandom studio with semi-professional and professionals mixed together.
In conclusion:
The ST:phase II/ST: New Voyages are probably some of the best done unofficial ST endeavours you'll see, and we even willing to revive something Gene Roddenberry had originally wanted to do (but was rejected by the studio execs), they even introduced TRIBBLE characters and very tastefully done as well. The episode with the TRIBBLE characters/storyline was "Of Blood and Fire Part 1 & 2."
I just want to make it clear that in no way was I trying to be offensive to the original poster or to anyone involved with this project which personally I think if anyone could pull it off it'd be this bunch, I just wanted to make sure everyone had all the facts.
Citation: Information was gathered from the ST: renegades site, ST:new voyages/phase II, IMDB, and google.

i wont put any money into a doomed venture without support from cbs first. when cbs has given their approval which is not likely, but in the event they do and only then will i put any money into it.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

Then I'd say it's time somebody resuscitated it.
