Never thought I'd see this place so empty. I guess they finally did it in the end, they finally crushed the PvP community to the point where the bug subforum is more active. Well heck, we all knew it was going to happen at some point, we lost the battle before it started. It's really sad to see such a knowledgeable and persistent section of the game's population wiped out...

Oh sorry, I'm just rambling. I got bored.

If any dev guy reads this for whatever reason, let me just ask a question... Is this what you (collectively) wanted? To see your most loyal fans, who were willing to offer help, who were wanting to improve the decency of a basic aspect of the game, completely stamped out?

Is this what you wanted?
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

Yeah, I know I already know the answer, but sometimes (namely, ~10:30 at night) it just astounds me. I guess in the end I do really want to know why. I just wish though, that they would just come here and flat out say they're not going to develop PvP, 'cause then I could at least respect them for saying it. But of course, the devs (barring Salami or Geko) are probably not allowed to say that.

What if he's applying to EA?

I really want to echo that sentiment. STO was unique in PvP and with love and attention it could have been beyond great. It's beyond a shame that they squandered it.

I really loved the early days and I was very enthusiastic about the VPvP initiative. Then, one day, it was all gone.

    All good things... :(

    It is what they wanted.

Why else do you think nobody ever cared to do a single thing about pvp? Ok we got a copy paste job shuttle queue, that was probably 10 minutes of work for them.

Do you really think it takes that much time to change a few pvp maps or add a few? Nah. Its also a few hours time at most. Excuse me for not mentioning balance, abilities, or the 5 year learning curve for new PvP newcomers, as they fix 1 thing and add 10 broken toys. Not much to discuss there.

They dont care, and they never will.

Having said that, I'm still enjoying STO :)

Also lol. I still hear the community say a few years ago, the conversion to PWE is going to be a good thing for PvP! hah.

    So much potential, wasted.

I really hope the Devs have at least the hindsight to realize that.

Honestly its not the devs making the calls, first it was D'stahl/D'angelo, and any other D' that once sat behind the controls.

But now its PWE, and PWE doesnt care about PVP one tiny bit either.

So PWE will stay on the same route as Atari back in the old days, and release PVE content preferably paid content.

If PWE ever sells STO to another company it will be the same story all over again -> assess situation: Result == Money is in PVE.

At the end it all comes down to the playerbase, and they love powercreep, they love kirking it up. PvP? BOOOOO i got r4ped back in season 1, and im still being r4ped in season 10!

Sorry I'd rather shoot at headless chickens with less AI than my Guinea pigs :P

Hm, that's an interesting thought. Perhaps they keep us around as a whipping boy for whenever they nerf stuff? :P

The majority of the folks out there that make the complaints about the catering to the PvP crowd would still be making the complaints ten years from now if PvP were removed yesterday...

It's been ridiculous for years now, and that they continue to make that complaint with the handful of PvPers that remain is just a trip...they'd keep going on blaming PvP folks even if there were no PvP folks.

    Wife: Honey, what's wrong?
    Husband: Nothing...I just.
    Wife: It's okay, it happens.
Husband: No, it doesn't. Those damn PvPers nerfed my...

It's just the way it is.

Well at some point we have mostly all been involved in an emasculating pug stomp. So that conversation could very well have taken place somewhere.

Pugstomps are emasculating for everyone involved, it's just some people are too dense to understand that...

No doubt its as challenging as getting mike to flip, or jones to run, or getting SD to wax Rom-sophical or little sam to suicide ram you or The guy named after the protagonist from that famous 8bit tendo game, the one with the sword and little elf hat, to write nasty game mails... also it is 1/100,000 as much fun for all involved.
