It would be nice if the K.D.F. was given the option to create Ferengi characters to go along with Nog's inclusion.

This is great. Nog was such an awesome character because Aron Eisenberg is fantastic. Well done, Cryptic. Thank you, and many thanks to Mr. Eisenberg for lending his distinctive voice to STO!

Trendy... Tell Zero, Salami and Geko we NEED a mission where we take a bunch of Ferengi to Empok Nor!

I am surprised that a Ferengi businessman hasn't taken control of it and turned into a hotel or something

Eh? I thought that according to STO lore (path to 2409), Nog was on the Ent-E when she disappeared.
I suppose the path to 2409 is now totally deprecated and liable to be ignored at will?

Well according to the wiki http://sto.gamepedia.com/2397#Federation in 2397 Nog was chief engineer of the Enterprise-E but doesn't say when his commission there ended.

The page for the Enterprise-E doesn't mention Nog, or even that Data was in command. However http://sto.gamepedia.com/Enterprise-E#Notes
While it has not been mentioned in-game, the short story "Unexpected Honor" by head writer Christine Thompson reveals that the Enterprise-E has, in fact, been destroyed by Undine forces while investigating Starbase 236. Though the ship itself was lost, most of the crew, including Captain Data, survived.

The page for Data http://sto.gamepedia.com/Data#History says this:
As of 2387 Data commanded the U.S.S. Enterprise-E, becoming the first non-human to command the Federation's flagship. He is still in command in 2408 when the ship is lost to the Undine at Starbase 236, though Data and his crew escape. Data later retires to Oxford on Earth. Upon the commissioning of the U.S.S. Enterprise-F in 2409, Data advises Va'Kel Shon to accept the command when he is offered it.

Even if Nog was on the Enterprise-E when it was "lost" in 2408, Data and most of the crew survived so it's reasonable to assume Nog survived and made his way back into Starfleet and eventually earned his own captaincy.

We'll just have to wait and see what is revealed in the story when Nog makes his appearance. (At least I'm hoping Cryptic puts in mention of Nog's adventures of how he came to be granted his own command)

      ...Magnificent Ferengi part 2?

God dammit cryptic if this isn't the basis for Season 11 I'm going to be bitterly disappointed in the total failure reality to satisfy my wild fantasies (and is it sad that right now those just consist of a post-DS9 ferengi episode?) :P

Well if Mr. Aron Eisenberg had any doubts about the popularity of his performance as Nog, he just needs to merely check this thread.

It pretty unanimous, NOG FREAKIN' RULES! :D:D:D

One of my favorite ST characters of all time. When I was young I connected more with Nog than I ever did Wesley. Glad to see him in game, now where did I put that root beer :).

The kid drove the Defiant, that's like someone driving a Chevy Camaro to high school at his age

One of my favorite episodes with Nog is "Treachery, Faith and the Great River" Nog was hilarious in making Chief Obrien freak out about all of the back room deals he was making. "The River will provide" and sure enough it did, however not without raising O'Brien's blood pressure. Still one of the best ST episodes ever and taught a lot about economics in general which actually applies to the real world. Everyone wants something for something, and are willing to trade for it.

Also, when you successfully pull off a chain of deals, everybody in the chain gains something, which makes it a win all around.

I'm gonna plug, subspace-radio.net here for just a moment. The Infamous DJ "DJ Grom" who each week does a live "Role Play" show.. (He is Ferrengi).. The shows been going several years now.. He lewd, Crude, sexist, greedy..um and a few other things.. in other words: Old School Ferrengi.

And some where along way back when a certain DS9 actor did a "station spot" for SSR ( I assume at one of the Trek conventions), wher it was noted that "our" DJ Grom, is the umm illegitimate son of one "Quark"

      It's been fun times since...

I'd love the drag a certain actor into STO..(and onto SSR) I'm pretty sure we could keep HIM entertained for at least ONE day!...

I'm also pretty sure it's been a done deal that he would do some work for STO for some time.. Just a matter of when. There's been at least two interviews I recall over the years where he pretty much said he was just wait'n to be asked.

I would assume most if not all the recording work has been done by now..and I surely hope he had a fantastic working visit.. and got to stick around, get some great Italian food, (or what ever tickled.. It's an international community in the City by the Bay) take in the sights, and be a tourist.

This is a three day weekend.. Have a GREAT time man!

Looking so forward to what you came to do.

I'm glad more DS9 content returns. Also I love Ferengi content. Back in those days, when a Star Trek Online game was mere speculation I wished for a Ferengi faction, to plunder the galaxy. That never came to happen, but still I have a Ferengi character. I'm glad that at least Nog returns, as he had an impressive career in front of him, judging by the DS9 episode "The Visitor". I'm looking forward to meet him.
