Nice! Really glad to see him joining the list of voice actors, Nog was one of my favourite DS9 characters. :D
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.

    Or a currently-unreleased T6, just to taunt everyone. :P

It's a good news to have a new returning member of the Star Trek verse, especially a (good) Ferengi after dealing with all those sons of a targ Ferengi you have to deal during the storyline like Farek, Qaris and Qwen.

Well, ya know.. The VET Heavy DD is still a very good ship. I have 5 out of my 10 toons flying one, 2 of em are in the Fleet version upgraded. (they'll be more.. The fleet T5U is pretty seriously good, and the Rom version is awfully close to an unfair advantage!)

I wouldn't mind seeing a Tier 6 version... not sure quite how that would work out... Though the simplest way to do it, would be making the Tactical mode intrinsic instead of requiring a console slot... which effectively would give the ship another console slot!

Engineer Captains do rather well in the Fed Heavy DD.. covers the weaknesses of the class quite nicely! The Rom version seems to do best with Science captains, and the KDF version seems to work well with and Captain.. just tweak the load out.

I wonder what Captain Nog has for a load out...Betcha its scary!

I would disagree about Jake drifting through life. He knew what was "expected" of him as a son of a commander (at the time), but he didn't want to go that route, it just wasn't for him, probably because he saw what it was really like with Starfleet on a day-to-day basis without officially being in it. He wanted to get into journalism, set that as his goal and pursued it. He even voluntarily goes into dangerous situations as a field reporter to give the story to the people, and goes essentially under-cover somewhat at the jem'hadar/cardassian occupied DS9. In one alternate reality we see how he ended up as an old man, while his dad's disappearance had a profound effect on him with his family life, he was still successful. Jake's fine, he just went down a different path than what was expected of him.

Hmm...I seem to recall him choosing not to pursue the schooling he should have had to be the most qualified in his job. There wasn't a real sense of career planning, just drifting from thing to thing as it came up. Sometimes he could be very lazy about getting things done.

Granted, reporter Peter Jennings did extremely well on a high school education, but I would not have expected that so much in the 24th century where there are not financial barriers to a university education in the Federation.

I hope we're getting some cross series content here. Tom Paris was in the last two episodes for example and it would be great if Captain Paris and Captain Nog were in the same room in this one. Or better yet, have them actually speak to one another. I always like it when characters from other shows actually interact with each other. A DS9 character like Nog taking a trip to the Delta Quadrant would be neat. Or a Voyager character like Paris heading to the Gamma Quadrant.

Aron spilled the beans on this a while back, but it is still awesome news. He did a wonderful job portraying the character growing and maturing and being clearly ferengi but also very unique. Really glad to have him in game.

I don't think any other game out there (let alone MMO) features so many TV stars.

    Thank you, Cryptic!

Being based on a bunch of related TV series and movies probably helps, along with the fact that the casts and storylines tended to be geared toward an ensemble and they had a lot of guest appearances.

This is not like Neverwinter or Champions, where the characters are not famously associated with a specific actor and you could literally cast anybody and nobody would notice.

The franchise represents the work of a large body of actors who have been involved with Trek to one degree or another.

Not all of those actors command huge amounts of money to cast, so they're arguably more affordable than the "big names".

Not all, but some of those actors have strong ties to the Star Trek fanbase and are more often involved with conventions than the others. Star Trek has tended to have a lot of memorable roles, as well, making them interesting to play. A few of the actors have been in multiple roles within the franchise, making them very versatile to cast.

We're also fortunate that so many of the Star Trek actors have distinctive voices and mannerisms for the characters they play. When Michael Dorn voices Worf, Tim Russ voices Tuvok, or Denise Crosby voices Sela they are easily recognizable.

    T6 Defiant confirmed.
I need to get to him. I can't just leave him out there alone. - Sometimes you've got to makes sacrifices, Lara. You can't save everyone. - I know about sacrifices. - No, you know about loss. Sacrifice is a choice you make. Loss is a choice made for you. - I can't choose to let him die, Roth.

Y'know, one would think the U.S.S. Chimera would actually be CHIMERA class (the 1000 day veteran ship)...

Cool to see Nog making a comeback. He was one of the DS9 characters I liked most.

I think it'd be neat to close out the Iconian war with the Enterprise E showing up, just as mysteriously as it disappeared, to save the day and get Brent Spiner to reprise his role as Data. ;)

    Very cool news!
I always liked Nog as character and to see his development in DS9.

Can we get a new episode that focuses on characters created for Star Trek Online? It needs its own identity. Every episode I'm a different Trek character's sidekick. How about some iconic Trek music sometime? The only actor you should hire is John de Lancie since we frequently have Q events.

Can some of that actor money be put into the foundry or pvp?

One of my favorite Nog scenes is when he first became an officer and he was telling Chief O'Brien about it from the epsiode Favor the Bold.

Garak's line from that episode is awesome, All Things considered it is better to ask the questions then answer them.

or Quark's: The nerve, you're a grown man, Morn, you don't have to attend your mother's birthday party if you don't want to. If she keeps whining about it, remind her there is a war going on and you things to do. he then gave Morn an empty glass saying its on the house.

or Weyoun's: You can't release a man and then execute him. It doesn't make sense. He later calls Rom a diabolical genius.

or Rom's: I'm going to die. I didn't say it, he did. So what else is new, did they fix the sonic showers in our quarters yet.

Nog: Chief, I was just coming to see you. They made me an Ensign.

O'Brien: I didn't know things were going so bad.

I'd just like to point out how awesome Nog was. He frackin' tried to arrest Martok for loitering.

    To quote Martok:

"You either are very brave or very stupid young Ferengi!"

    and Nog quips back with

    "Probably a little of both"

Must if learned it from Sisko. He did punch Q in the face.
