I just re-watched "The Defector" last night, and saw Commander Jarok's traitor-dad fall into a very sad trap. TAMALOK!!!!! :P
In any case, I was curious... do we have any indication that Commander Jarok received the letter from her father? He wrote one to her at the end of the episode, and Picard presumably held the letter for later delivery. Just wanted to know if in-game lore touched on this...
I think she did, during Sphere of Influence before you activate the gateway you have options to talk to her and some of the other npc, if you talk to her she talks about her father.

Heh, I guess that's what I get for F-spamming my way through that scene.

Nice, i must have missed that.
"Defector" always was one of my fav episodes.
I'm going to replay Sphere again asap.
Thanks for the hint!

That's what I figured as well. She definitely knew what her father did and why he did it, and appreciates that.
Tiaru as a character is just great, in general. Best flagship commander of the three factions, imo - or at least the most well-written.

There was a TNG Short story (Suicide Note) iirc that touched on this once where Picard brought his letter to Romulus several years later.
Even though Cryptic gets some TRIBBLE sometimes about being Star Trek Fans, I am constantly amazed as all the little references from the shows that show up in the game. There have been several times I'll be watching some episode from one of the series and some little side comment they make or thing they reference is something that shows up in STO.

Better voice acting too, the others seem...forced with their lines. However I always figured that Picard took the time to visit Tiaru Jarok sometime after the events of Nemesis.

Yes, I have to agree. I have no idea who the actress is that does the voice over but she always seems to portray Tiaru perfectly.
Captain Jarok is also my favourite of the three flagships. Best character and I really, really like her voice.

A Romulan Strike Team, Missing Farmers and an ancient base on a Klingon Border world. But what connects them? Find out in my First Foundary mission: 'The Jeroan Farmer Escapade'
damn she's pretty hot... actually... if ya look at her face I can kinda see jarok might have been made to use her facial structure... O.o
I love that they cast across racial/ethnic lines. Seriously, if you are providing voice talent, then it opens the door for people to portray characters they might not otherwise be able to do in live-action performances. Well done Cryptic/Atari/Perfect World!

Honestly, Alidar Jarok was a traitor in the same way that Claus von Stauffenberg was a traitor.

I just love that character and her back story.

It's Mara Junot http://www.gamevoices.co.uk/profile/MaraJunot / http://www.marajunot.com. She also does T'Vrell, and I think she's been involved with some of Cryptic's other titles.
