They are ditching the Risian Corvette? :eek: Can us Stylish Speed Tankers get no love?

Is anyone else feeling the pain of losing such a wonderful ship?? Let us hear you make some noise.

I was just getting excited that my Delta Recruit could get a hot ride in a Corvette. So dissapointed with Cryptic.

Watch the new corvette will be a pilot ship with same speed, turn but has the immunity/avoidance manuvers.

Sounds like you've unlocked it on a previous toon...er...so you won't have a problem if that's the case.

If you already have the Corvette, it will become an account unlock, so your alts will still be able to get it.

Not sure on the timeframe that'll happen, though.

When/if there is a 'new corvette' you mean, a lot of people assume this years ship will be a T6 corvette with pilot spec, but a lot think it will be a sci boat, or a carrier, or a sci carrier, it could even be something completely different, a risian racing shuttle, or a garbage scow, nobody who actually knows is talking so far.

The patch notes said that the Risian Corvette was going away at the start of the new Lohlanut festival. So account unlocks are meaningless.

The XP later came out and said that if you have them, they are account unlocked. Just no more getting them in the Summer Event.

If you have it already it will be available to all your chars, even the ones you haven't created yet. It's a reclaimable account unlock (or rather it's going to be). If you don't have it already and wanted to get it this year it is indeed tough luck (I don't have any of the risian ships either). But... that's life. The events ended long time ago.

Going away as in "not being available as event reward", not as "being deleted from every character/account". That would upset quite a lot of people... :P

seeing as geko's completely uninterested in making sci ships since they don't sell enough according to the podcast (and in this kind of event it'd mean less people grinding, so lower metrics), i doubt they'll add another sci ship that isn't a part of a 3 set and a simple seat/console reshuffle.

a pilot ship would be a perfect advertisement for upcoming cstore pilot ships. test ride in a free ship with low level pilot seat, so you'll buy a cstore one with high level seats.

they are not really ditching the Risian Corvette, they are just making it so new users and users who didn't bother to get it before will not be able to acquire it, any users like myself who did get this ship and the other event ships will be able to claim them on any character we like.

also if you slotted the project last year but haven't completed it yet you will be able to finish the project this year with whatever tokens they use for this event but if you don't finish it this year your project will be deleted.
if you have at least two characters you should have no problem finishing an uncompleted summer project and also acquiring this years ship on your alt character.

all seems pretty strait forward and fair to me.

Well they already gave a command and carrier shipT6 out for free... so that only leaves intel and pilot.. given they took away a maneuverable corvette would make sense for them to add that back in as a pilot ship.

It makes more sense as a pilot ship fits the whole event then a slow intel or carrier.... you know it could have racing stripes >.>

while we don't know the exact mechanics, there are some ways i can think of that system can be improved.

for example, if there's a certain number of tokens put into the event, don't remove it. say, 600+ pearls make it so the event tab isn't removed after the event's over, so people who lost to real life can continue the project next year.

a better way to fix the old system would be to:

1) make it so pearls can't be obtained until an event project is started
2) automatically put them into the project on obtaining
3) don't apply any discount to the projects in event tab, just do the account unlock we'll have now

so pearls go directly into a project. you can't bypass it that way because without slotting it you don't get pearls, and with slotting it the pearls are put into an existing project. cancelling reputation projects destroys all resources, so they can't be reclaimed either.

if two characters run the same project, then you dun goofed, because the second one won't add anything new to what the first one already got.

if there are two or more projects, slot from top to bottom.

if project's finished and there's no more slottable/slotted projects, don't let player accumulate pearls, give 200-300 favors instead for running the mission.

this will remove any need for new currency each year.

I am sure there are many different ways this could be done but cryptic chose this method so that's that, I am sure once everyone gets accustomed to the new system they will see its not so bad.

Nonsense. If the Corvette is going away, it'll give all the more meaning to it becoming available on every character on an account, rather than just the ones who claimed it in the first place.

The corvette (And subsequently, the cruiser liner and likely the breen ships) will be available to all alts of yours if you got them on one char.

Unless, you know, you couldn't do the event in which case Cryptic thinks you should just go TRIBBLE yourself.

The sad thing for me is that I've done all the previous events and had stockpiles, but never grabbed the event ships because a per-character thing was useless to me. If it was account based, I'd have all the event ships unlocked. Now, I won't have any as they phase out the previous currencies.

Oh well, at least I have spec points?

I hope it's a Sci or a Carrier...but logically it will probably be a Corvette with a Pilot hybrid seat somewhere...or some Escort or maybe even Raider...

Science isn't in their vocabulary anymore...
