are there any interesting boffs for non-roms?

note: this is about boff space traits, not ground

So, now there are crazy expensive boff skills ..... uh ..... hooray? maybe? whatever, they are kinda cool, so expensive though.

Ok, so now, where do I put them if I'm non-rom? (not romulan) For tacticals it's easy, embassy SRO boffs are prefect (superior romulan operatives)

But what about sci/eng? There's potato (delta hierarchy boff) who is just an enhanced nusicaan, ok. The lobi borg sci boff has efficiency ... and feds have humans ... and that's about the end of what I know.

Feds lack space traits -- they are all weak really.

KDF nauscissians are quite good, not up to SRO but better than fed offerings.

Plenty of folks pop in one officer with efficient.

There really are not a lot of space +damage (any, includes crit) choices outside of rom. Pirate. Not much else. The rest are minor utility that is very weak compared to these.

    Romulans get:
    Romulan operative
    Infiltrator
    Subterfuge
    Space warfare specialist (d'vex only)
    Efficient

    Feds and kdf get:
    Efficient
    Pirate
Space warfare specialist (veteran boffs only)
    Leadership

    Lockbox get:
Impatient (xindi = 5% boff power recharge rate)
Scavenger (talaxian = get rnd mats in combat)

So, really, nothing compares with operative. By far it is the best.

Keep in mind that feds can get a nausican for pirate via diplomacy, and everyone can get the potato (hierarchy) boff with both efficient and pirate.

Only a few give any kind of damage:
    Space warfare specialist
    Operative
    Pirate
    Infiltrator
    Subterfuge

Notice most of these are romulan exclusive

everything stacks, it's just a matter of finding the boffs

This is not correct. There is no point in having 2 leadership or efficient boffs as they do not stack. There are a few other minor limitations as well but those are the 2 biggest.

    Generally speaking

    Fed/Kdf you want
    2 SRO tactical (most builds)
1 Potato for the Pirate and Efficiency

    Fed
1 Nausican Eng (Diplomacy) for pirate
    1 Human for leadership

    Kdf
    2 Nausicans for pirate

    For highest dps.

    1 potato lol I like that :)

    On my fed I use:
2 SRO from the fleet embassy operations.
    1 potato :)
    1 Lib borg engi

And I had no idea i could get a nausican from diplomacy.
Ill have to look Into that. Thanks.

The Kobali boff you can get what are her traits? I have it on one of my alts but not able to log in atm so I was just thinking about about builds and wondered if she has any decent traits.

All her traits are for ground.

And it's all probably academic, as Cryptic seemingly have decided to change the "fixed" traits <-/->race system.

I've opened several Delta BOff Packs for instance, and I've had a Gorn with Leadership, a Bajoran with Pirate, and my latest is a Reman Lib-Borg with Superior Romulan Operative.

It seems Cryptic got tired of all the whining and crying, so it may be that the introduction of random traits on Intel (and possibly future Command/Pilot BOff Packs/Drops) means that we'll no longer look for specific races, just traits.

Could be wrong, and it could just be the Delta Pack ones have randomly generated traits, but the paucity of recruitment missions for Romulan Bridge Officers for instance, and the fact that there are fewer and fewer SRO's on the Exchange, may mean that Cryptic is doing one of their patented "stealth nerfs"

Really.. that's interesting. However, it does kind of make sense. The Gorn and Saurians are equivalent. Bajorans are sneaky TRIBBLE (i.e the Maquis).. and well Remans are part of the Romulan faction.

So it may not be as random as it first appears.

Not precisely true. You can't stack multiple copies, but usually you *can* stack, say, one boff with Subterfuge and another with Superior Subterfuge.

Is there a trick to get different BOFFS from the delta box? I always get exactly the same guys with same appearance and traits.

You are wrong. Both according to the in game tooltip for the traits and my testing. Alternatively, you may be buggy.

For both infiltrator and subterfuge only the one highest bonus applies.

I'm not sure what he's talking about either. The Delta Ops Pack set of Intel boffs always gives you the same 3 each time. for Feds it's a Vulcan with efficient, a human(Leadership), and a Trill. Roms get a Reman, a Romulan, and a Lib Borg Romulan(with the usual traits for purples of those races). Klingons get the most interesting stuff. Klingon with Leadership, a Gorn, and an Orion.

not sure what you are talking about with the delta pack, I suspect it is as other people say - fixed

But, with respect to romulan SRO, there is a real problem there. The recruit romulan boff mission is almost entirely gone now. When I noticed this I did post about it suggesting people to buy anything they really want right away.

stealth nerf, or bug, or the-new-normal? ... we may never know. but that's what it is right now.
