Requesting elaboration on 'event ships' regarding account-wide unlocks

Hey, I want to say that I really do appreciate the effort to find a compromise that works for the majority of people, and I feel that you've done a good job of it with making all past/present event ships account-wide so we'll always have access to the ones we've unlocked. Thank you!

That said, I just want to ask for some clarification on what specifically constitutes an 'event ship.' I realize that you may need a little time to look at this and see just what all you want to include. I mean, all the Summer and Winter event ships are the obvious. What about the Dyson Destroyer and Kobali Samsar (Anniversary Event) ships which were also earned via the event reputation system? What about earlier Anniversary ships like the Odyssey and Ambassador?

As a consumer, I certainly hope that all of these ships will be included, but I figured it would be best to ask here and get it out in the open. It could indeed be the subject of some confusion and future consternation if there are ships that some might think of as 'event ships' that don't fit your official definition. Just hoping to get us all on the same page and in understanding on the matter.

Thanks much, and please do let us know if there are any 'exclusions' -- if it's only summer & winter, if it's only those that used the event reputation system or if the 'single-mission' event ships like the Odyssey and Ambassador qualify too.
Live long, and prosper.

The only thing for sure is they will retire the risian corvette and the risian cruiser. And the new *summer* event ship will be account wide.

Nothing beside this was mentioned or promised. Don't count on anything else.

When it comes to the Devs, don't count on anything until it is written down. Even then, take it with a grain of salt cause it could change at any time if the devs think the player base is enjoying something.

We will be making every event ship you’ve ever earned and every event ship moving forward total account unlocks. As soon as one character on your account owns a ship, every single other character on your account that exists now or you will ever create will have immediate access to any event ship you’ve earned. There will be no need for your alts to play the event mission, no hoops to fly through other than picking up the ship from a store.

As to when that will happen, and what 'event ship' actually turns out to mean, will have to wait until when/if they actually do it.

Yep, lets survive the summer event first. We can extrapolate from there.

I disagree, to me the line from the blog says it all.
"We will be making every event ship you’ve ever earned and every event ship moving forward total account unlocks."

how you equate this to being only 'the new *summer* event ship' I don't know.
to me every event ship includes summer, winter and anniversary past and future.

providing of course you have earned them on at least one character.

as for the deadline for when this happens we will have to wait and see.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

My guess is only ships obtained through the event reputation system will count.

Special ships like the free Obilesk carrier probably won't count since that was just a limited time episode reward. After the event it was made available through ship requisitions and requires a T1 fleet spire and costs 2 fleet ship modules and fleet credits. The version you buy is upgradeable to T5-U for free but I don't think the free version obtained through episode reward can be upgraded (it might be upgradeable).

It is also a free upgrade.
