Epic AP Beam Boat Setup Questions

Hey everyone, here is the build I've managed to put together.

http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=ccthrawnmain_0

My questions are as follows:

1 - Should I hold out for getting full [CrtD]3 [PEN] arrays and sell off the epic ones, or just go with the epic ones? I can craft them and upgrade them all myself so with enough time and patience I might be able to get all five like that up front...

2 - Are vulnerability exploiters the way to go here or should I mix with vulnerability locators?

3 - How are the rest of the consoles? Am I missing anything glaring for peak DPS performance?

4- And hows the rest of the gear? Shields/Engine/Deflector/etc.?

Any additional thoughts or suggestions is most helpful.

Obviously, it would be nice to get all CritDx3 [PEN] beams, but what you have is more then fine for now. You can roll with what you have while you play the 'crafting lottery' and see if you can get lucky on a couple more beams. If you're buying them off the exchange, I would try and get the x3 beams if possible, but no need to break the bank on them. Get the upgraded beams when/if you can, but don't bankrupt yourself doing it.
2 - Are vulnerability exploiters the way to go here or should I mix with vulnerability locators?

For your build, I would go with 5 Locators. Exploiters are best used with things like Surgical Strikes that push your Crit Chance up. You already have Crit Severity between your beams and the Zero Point and Assimilated consoles. Load up on locators and get your crit chance up as much as you can.
3 - How are the rest of the consoles? Am I missing anything glaring for peak DPS performance?

Your consoles aren't bad, but I would look to replace the Flow Regulators. If you have the Lobi, then Bio-Neural Infusion Circuits would up your Crit Severity and you can go with the Nukara Console to up your accuracy by 10%. You could also consider Bio-Neural Gel Packs from Delta Rep for the BoFF power cool down reduction.
4- And hows the rest of the gear? Shields/Engine/Deflector/etc.?

Looks good to me, you have a nice set up. When you're all done you should be able to push some pretty good damage.

Hey thanks so much for the responses.

I've got enough Lobi for the Bio-Neural Infusion Circuits Console and enough Delta Comms for the Bio-Neural Gel Pack Console. I can also get the Nukara one if need be. If you had to choose 2 though, which are top choices.

Also, any thoughts on the new Lobi console, the "Hatchery Master Controller"? Does a +2 Max to all Power Subsystems...

I would think that fleet neutroniums would be more use than the two eps flow regulators.
New home of the Romulan Republic.
I have an idea for what Season 11 should be; Season 11: The Big Bug Fix.
I have not been able to read my bug tickets in over a year, not even the tickets about not being able to see my tickets.
I find the drama of your signature proof of your immaturity, this means you, DR whiners.

For your build, if I was choosing between those 3, I would pick Infusion Circuits and the Gel Packs.

I have to agree. If you want to add a bit more survivability, you could add the Infusion Circuits and a Fleet Neutronium to up your resists a little. You can get the fleet consoles from the Dilithium Mine.

Just depends on if you want to go all offense, or a bit more balance.

If you are going for an all-forward beam layout, why not use DBBs instead?

i'm curious.. why is faw2 and apb2 being used instead of faw3 and apb1? does that provide more dps?

i'm new to the beam setups, i've been using cannons/escorts for years..just trying to figure out the optimal layout for my new presido

    That's a good question, I didn't even notice that.

I would personally reverse those, if I was using the Lt Commander slot for an Attack Pattern, I would personally go Omega there. If I were building it, I would do what you asked and run ATB1 and BFAW3. I suppose going Beta 2 grants a little stronger debuff, probably slightly benefits team DPS over individual DPS. That's my guess.
