Being ejected from STFs for less than 30 seconds of disconnection.

Every time my fugging phone rings my Internet shuts off. This is only a problem because I live with idiots who have more money than brains. They are being called constantly by the GOP and other corrupt political groups seeking money.

STO kicks me out of STFs every time this happens, so STFs have been very frustrating. How long do you have before the STF is supposed to kick you? Seems automatic for any interruption now. I know in the past I had been able to get back in if I reconnected quickly.

If you're using DSL and your connection drops when the phone rings you should call your phone company. It could be something as simple as a bad filter to something that needs to be checked on the actual wiring.

I know every now and then I'll crash in BD (seems okay in most other places just BD tends to crash now and then) it takes me more than 30 seconds to get back and I'm not booted.

Yeah, I should call the ISP, but ATT is soooo fugging bad at customer support...Instead I am studying how to hack my neighbors Wifi....

@OP: You *do* realize DSL needs a splitter installed, right?! So as to separate DSL data from the voice band.

Not calling is a great way to be sure it doesn't get fixed eventually.

if the socket on the wall is anything like my one then its either a micro filter that needs replaces (simple) or its an actual line issue. which is "problematic" as it costs a ton to get repaired lol for physical wiring that is.

I have to wonder if there's more to this than a simple dropped connection? I've had my computer completely shut down in the middle of an STF.... I had to completely cold boot from start to finish, then launch the game, and still managed to complete the STF with rewards.

Makes me wonder if part of his issue is the game getting confused by getting an unfamiliar signal?

Did not know that. I assumed any DSL modem would have this built in, because why wouldn't they?

Figured out a new solution. If I shut STO down instead of trying to log back in and start it up from scratch using ARC it seems to let me return to the instance and holds my reward for me even after more than 5 minutes.

As the chair of your local GOP I'd like to personally thank you for the tears you've shed in frustration. The tears of witless, whiny entitlement babies sustains us.

Actually, no. DSL does not need a splitter, it's the phones that do. DSL should be plugged directly into the wall jack unless you also want to have a phone plugged into the same jack, only at which point a splitter is needed (DSL on the passthrough and phone on the filter).

In addition, any other phone plugged in to a separate jack connected to the same physical line will need to have a filter.

Receiving a phone call breaks your internet connection? 0_0

When you play your keytar too loudly, do the neighbors send you a fax, or do they call your pager?

Now YOU'RE just splitting... hairs, that is. :P If you want to use DSL, and a regular phone, on the same line, you need a splitter. Period.

And from the looks of it, I still think they installed none.
