Tribble Maintenance and Release Notes - May 6, 2015

Tribble is being brought down for maintenance to update it to build ST.50.20150425a.9.

General:
  • Resolved an issue which was occasionally causing a crash when transferring maps.
  • Herald Sphere:
    • Stage 1: Advanced version can no longer be failed here.
    • Stage 2: Optional bonus for Normal AND Advanced can be failed.
      • The whole mission does not fail when this happens.
    • Stage 3: Advanced no longer fails if timer expires
    • Stage 4: Optional bonus for defeating the boss before time runs out for both Normal AND Advanced.
      • Advanced does not fail when timer expires.
  • Resolved an issue which was causing some lag when logging in.
  • Commando Spec - Juggernaut Shielding: Resolved an issue that was preventing Shield Capacity from automatically updating when this Specialization Ability was active.
  • Resolved an issue where Blood of Ancients was not rewarding the weekly refreshed upgrade kit.
  • Grace Lee Whitney has been added to the memorial plaque.

Known Issues:
  • Foundry Edit and Foundry Review are not available.
    • Also, some published missions in the Beta Quadrant cannot be accessed.
  • Dismissing Epic Quality Duty Officers does not grant any rewards.
  • Klingon Alien Male Braided Hair has a lage gap with Dual Lobes Category.
  • Many of the Herald Squad NPC Groups are actually Bluegills in the Foundry.

    Still no word on the promised "fix" to KDF tholian orb weaver owners? I know, why fix something you promised when you can hope we will just buy the latest new ship of the month and forget about you making a promise to fix something...

    Yay, a fix to Juggernaut Shielding. I was tired of removing/putting back on my shield at the start of every ground map.

    Yes, thanks for the Juggernaut Shielding fix.

    The progressive changes to Advanced optionals are also welcome. But I wonder if ISA is coming last of all, if ever.

    Over 6 months of waiting for qa to fix our lockbox ship. Broken for the entirety of DR. For every bs excuse that can be created for why this hasn't been resolved, I reply "over 6 months."

    We bought it. They broke it. They ignore it. That's their version of customer service for their paying customers. Happy day.

    Tinfoil Hat #23 suggests something larger is going on with Infected, Cure, and Khitomer since they lack an Elite version...and if there is not something going on there that's hush-hush.

    Are the devs aware of how much the Advanced Radiant Quantum Torpedo is underperforming? Its average damage is lower than a basic torpedo. Just ran GGA and thought why not slot the advance torpedo in and see how it performs, even I didn’t expect it to be this bad.

    1,430,483 damage from my main Quantum torpedo
    .....74,173 from the advanced Quantum torpedo.

    The advance torpedo did just 5% of the damage of my main torpedo? radiation damage push's it a little higher but still that's terrible performance for an advance torpedo.

    Another bug is fleet projectile tactical consoles still cannot be upgrade with projectile tech. Can we please have this fixed. A core part of the R&D system has been broken for far too long.

    Who cares as long as the lag is not fixed it wouldnt matter what they do. Forsll intends and purposes isa kasa csa could have been removed and you wouldnt really mind right now.

    Y'know, I've wondered how much lag is graphics-related, and how much is to do with the game engine. Whenever I get a little bit of lag, turning the graphics right down helps greatly...but never mind, it's far easier to blame the devs for lag - which they have said multiple times thata fix is in the works.

    TL;DR: Although there is an issue with lag, it can be mitigated by turning your graphics right down.

    Still no repairs for Defera Invasion Zone, nor for the STFs. I don't know how to be lucid with Cryptic/Perfect World on how much assistance is needed for both Defera Invasion Zone and the STFS. All they do is listen to themselves and distant themselves from what the players report and say. I can't respect a company that don't respect it's costumer's requests and views.

    I'm sorry, I'm trying to believe you, but please answer this for me:

    How does turning my graphics settings down mitigate having abilities go on some sort of a reduced CD when I click them and not activate properly? I'm not seeing the link you see. Please enlighten me. I want to believe that the fix is that simple, really!

    I'm not referring to the lag as you have it, rather the reduction in FPS. As to the lag that you are referring to, my apologies for confusion. As it stands I haven't been experiencing anything like that, so it would be my guess as to what happens.

    lag that affects 0.1% of the game population and is the mmo equivalent of a boogeyman or big foot. some say they saw it but it was never documented.

    i never had the game lag for me, other than occassional rubberbanding during season release/event days.

    We fight them too. Entire armies spilling out of Volkswagens.
    We do our best to fight them off, but they keep sending them in.

    In all honesty, I've only ever had graphical lag and a small i.e. barely noticeable amount of rubberbanding..although I only had the laggerbanding that the person you quoted yesterday in ISA. I've never documented it because I've never felt the need (and I have no clue how to do anything of the sort).

    Also, the fact that the appropriate team is working on a fix and will implement it in due course is good enough for me.

    There are 3 major issues which are causing lag right now. One is an FPS issue. Another is caused by skills putting heavy load on the server in various cases, ISA CSA and KASA for example. Others are more people migrate there.

    The third if I recall was related to some networking issues.

    These issues has all be announced as being an issue. They don't affect everyone in the game as they only apply in certain cases. A cause and effect if you will. Get x skills and you start to lag. Add in other players with x skills and you lag more.

    For some there is no amount of turning graphics down that will fix the issue they see. Only removing x skills that Cryptic made available.

    For the most part for the issues that some of us are facing though, it's a matter of waiting.

    Hopefully there's a fix for the networking and server load issues in the works..ISA has become so terribad that I'm resorting to DOffing for materials, and KASA for other STFs. :rolleyes: :P

    As far as lag, the only issue I've had with that is that my ground powers have been even more crappy to activate than usual having to press multiple times in order to activate them.

    I can't emphasize enough how garbage it is to have that time delay on powers activating. It's one thing if you don't want powers to be activating simultaneously, especially when an animation has to take place like actually going through the motion of applying a hypospray. But having them cancel each other out when I'm trying to initiate life saving measures or set up an attack, I'd much rather they queue and go off in the order that I press them, rather than it just drop what I'm trying to do. Lag only exacerbates this. The problem is horrible on the ground lately but it's not foreign to space though.

    by documenting i meant giving the devs a 100% sure way to replicate it so they can try fixing it. just because you can show that a bug is indeed happening doesn't mean the devs can fix it, if they can't reproduce it to even get an idea what's happening and how to fix it.

    for all we know it's happening because your isp is throttling mmo traffic.
