After FINALLY revealing the new Pilot ships they appear to be coming in a 3-pack for each faction. I HATE 3-packs. 😡
One has the best console, one has the over-powered ship trait and the last one has the BOFF and Console layout you actually want to use. Thanks but no thanks Cryptic I'll stick to my Bugship.
what if one ship doesn't have the spoiler and after market exhaust on it that your looking for? but another ship does...just saying with 3, its 3 chances to find the right one...

I'm guessing that the people on the forums are blind as it was blatantly obvious it was going to be a 3 pack did you not see the 3 new ships in delta flight?

Not really, I only ever saw one for each faction.
There will be three ships for each faction NINE total. That's what I meant.
If you haven't seen this coming since the Command cruisers, you're sadly in denial.
After the fiasco that was the DR Pack, they listened enough to give players equivalent ships in 3 flavors for all 3 factions, combining the convenience other factions saw in the 3 ship bundles with equality across all factions. All share the same traits and consoles, so they can't be accused of playing favoritism.
Of course, you'll just have to suck it up that not all the best design elements are on one ship or that all ships will have the best Starship Mastery trait or loadout, thus buying the rest to round it out. Which they've been doing (the visual differences that is) since the Scimitar, Vesta, Andorian Escorts, and DSDs.
On the the bright side, you can expect 1 or 2 Iconic ship packs in about a month or two.
One if it's just the Defiant, BoP, and T'Varo and all the work needed (since they don't share similarities like the X-Faction Cruiser bundle).
Two if one "Iconic Escorts" pack is Defiant, Raptor, T'Varo, and a second Iconic "BoP" pack containing the Aquarius, BoP, and Original Romulan BoP.
I personally prefer the latter; 2 Iconic Packs, since that'd be 2 new escorts/flanker-based ships for all sides besides the Pilot ship packs.

Faction equality does not = Faction Sameness
I prefer uniqueness, but most idiots here seem to think sameness is better.
Yes they have always been creedy gunts. Nothing is new mate.
Yeah I mean it's not as if running a game server 24/7 costs money and the game is pay to play so it's not as if they rely on the C-Store for most of their income

But that's exactly what got Cryptic to doing these bundles in the first place.
All the incessant, petulant whining over one faction getting something good without close analogues in the others. And prior, the stubbornness of KDF players consigned them to suffer months without a single new ship while Feds shut up and took was they were given.
Prior, the worst was just having a unique console being made available via Lockbox.
But DR and its pack blew it all wide open, with KDF and Roms eventually begging for equivalent Phantom, Eclipse, Scryer, and Guardian ships, even if they were just carbon copies with only a visual change.
And again, Cryptic listened, and started this path towards ships which all share major common selling points, only having a few minor stat/ability changes and visual differences.
And you know what? They sold far more than anticipated in bundles (according to Cryptic). Then they tried to do another Iconic ship, but this time, one with similar analogues (Pathfinder had none), and we got the X-Faction Cruiser bundle. Which also sold higher than expected (according to Cryptic).
So the trend has been set, and the complaints on the forums, reddit, and twitter are far lower than they would've been if they kept the disparity that was the DR bundle and Pathfinder, with many actually praising the influx of KDF and Romulan ships (even if they directly piggybacked off Fed stats).
The only complaints now are other iconic ships being slow to appear, but it's practically a given they will at some point; after a set of Originals are released.

I'm perfectly happy spending on this game I'm flying a ship that cost me over $100 to get after all. I'm, simply voicing my distaste for 3-packs.

Than don't buy it or simply just get one of the ships, nothing is forcing anyone to buy all 9 at once. I don't understand why everyone is so sore about the new Pilot ships when everyone was complaining about the lack of pilot ships before.
You hate 3 packs? I hate 9 packs.... I much rather have 1 ship per faction with different parts as options, we dont need packs that are $100+. The Galaxy/Neg'var/D'Deridix pack was the best pack they have released in my book.
I was hoping cryptic had learned to just release 1 ship per faction at a time that were basicly copies so everyone gets the same thing and could love the ships equally without bleeding people for money.
Like you pointed out every time they release 3 packs you get 1 with good looks, 1 with good boff/console layout, and the last one gets some op trait vs the other 2. The G/N/D'D pack was awesome cause you didn't have to deal with that, and it was priced ok to get everything.
Ya no one make you buy anything, and to that end, I hope cryptic gets the msg from what I say next. I was going to buy the 3 pack if it had been like the last one, 1 ship per faction. That would have been $50-60 bucks. But because cryptic went back to the DSD type pack options, I now will be spending zero.
The DSD was a massive failure because of how they sold it, and it being way to gimick heavy. Shame I really liked the design of some of these new ships and pilot looked fun, but im not interested in getting 2/3rds TRIBBLE in a pack that I will never use, and even less interested in a 9 pack of ships where I spend more money for just as much stuff I wont ever use.
The old 3-9 pack selling idea was bad before traits, look at the scimitar, oddy, bort, or andorian ship packs let alone the DSD. People spend all that money and feel kinda cheated afterwards when they find out most of it isnt worth it.
Cryptic I ask you, stop doing packs the old way. If your going to do packs of ships keep them to being 3 ships 1 per faction, that are useful/good, and balanced. The more satisfied your customer feels with their item the more likely they will buy again from you. What most of us have learned is, if packs come out, buy 1 ship if that.
We are willing to spend money, but the more you ask for at one time aka 9 packs the less likely people can/will buy it. The less satisfied we are with our purchase the more likely we are to either buy less, or not at all.
Oooh that was bad, you just did a "NO U". You sounded like this. Pretty funny intellectual laziness hahaha.
Mhm... just as intellectually lazy as beginning a sentence with "LOL" and using Youtube videos to insult people
And using insults to advance your debate even though you have no reasoning whatsoever,
but don't get sore at me simply because I fire better shots than you.
But I've come to expect that from a Klingon player, no facts just sass.
Yes they have always been creedy gunts. Nothing is new mate.
Pff...if you want greed go play MWO...for $10 more I can get a 3 pack of ships...vs $50 for my favorite Mech...
Plus I don't see a gold painted Galaxy skin going for $500...all and all when it comes to f2p I said STO is pretty good compared to other games I've played...plus haven't played s single f2p where you can earn shop currency in game without spending a dime.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

It is a peculiar phenomenon that we can imagine events that defy the laws of the universe.

one will look like the paris variant - it will be the tac one with the good trait.
one will be the engineering one with good console and part1 of "acceptable costume"
the third one will be the scivariant with part2 of "acceptable costume" without the other one wont look good at all.
the visible one here is defenetely the sci or eng variant (probably the engi, cause it looks more "edgy" and engineering with those pipes front.
the only positive:
its an escort so having a sci or eng side variant wont be to bad. better than having to much tacskills you cant even use up.
but i bet they will find a way to "intermix" everything in a way everyone will be equally displeased and forced to spend AT LEAST for 2 ship-variants.
