While travelling with my Delta Recruit in her Tier 2 BOP, I noticed DOFF assignment list change while flying over top of a border. (See DOFFing Regions map posted by Taco Fangs.)
Then, as I flew over and away from that border line, the list would revert back to a generic list. The one which is up during the rest of the quadrant...making it look the same assignments everywhere.
Right on top of the border is the "sweet spot", you want to hit that and come to a FULL STOP.
It is where the assignment list actually updates "correctly" and contains everything as it should. The "missing" Suppress Gorn, the Labor Camps, photonic exploration, Dominion exchange, etc etc.
(Note: still do not see any of the Haggle assignments, though...will keep looking).
I switched characters and tried it on my Level 60 and it works....though with much more maneuvering.
To this end I will be ditching the faster "Borg engines"...to something that allows for slower acceleration. Having to inch forward a sliver at a time to get over the "line" to trigger the change to the doff assignment list is a pain when going at super sector space speed.
Also, I will be switching everyone a smaller ship in hopes for a smaller "footprint" so I can sit in that sliver of a border and not accidentally move out of that "sweet spot". (If I had kept any of the smaller, lower level ships, I may have to switch to that...but I don't think I did.)
Hope this helps everyone.

I finally found the time to listen the Priority One Podcast 219 last night....which was recorded at the end of last week.
I was somewhat surprised to hear that Geko was not aware of any issues with DOFFing other than: some sectors were missing DOFF assignments in "Current Map"...fix on its way. (I have seen this, too...and glad it is taken cared of.)
It was way too early as of the time of this podcast recording to have the "word out" on everything going on, obviously. I hope the developers have noticed this behavior of the DOFFing assignment list.

This is exactly what Ive been doing the last couple of days. Sometimes it is inconsistent though, perhaps because the list is slower to refresh due to server lag, I dont know.
However, it also helps to very slowly move from one side of the border to the other, then reverse back and move forward again. The department head list also refreshes 2-3 times while doing this, almost as if there were three sets of DOFFjobs, one side of the border, the other one, and the dividing line also.
And Geko... lol, dont be surprised he doesnt know anything about the game. There is a bug report on the forums about it, but no dev gives a c**p so far.

If you are a bit flush with fleet creds, you can buy "retrofit" versions of most T2 & T3 ships from the fleet yards for 200k FC and a ship provision. Rhode Island is a nice small ship... Or, if you have it, the C-Store Connie (which is my current high-speed-ship with Borg drives...)
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

Wow..I will have to pay closer attention to the Department Heads. Thank you for that tip!

That is right!! I keep forgetting they gave away the Tier 2 (or was it 3?) BOP during one of the last gifting sprees from the Zen store. My KDF characters have access to this ship....poor Delta Recruits...keep missing out on it.
I will look and see if my only Fed-Ferengi has access to the Connie, too. Thanks for the reminder.

I hope this is only a temporary work around and the programming can be changed to allow everything to show up through out the "DOFFing blocks", again. This behavior of changing at border crossings is painstaking.
I don't mind hunting within sectors...but to maneuver a ship into an exact position is a bit over the top and takes time.
I don't get that "open and free" feeling. DOFF on the fly in sector space with no borders...no warp scenes....yadda yadda.....
THAT is what I was looking forward to when they merged everything into one map.
Now, the borders are back....but different....I am disappointed. I hope they can fix this.

I have started to notice this too, I tend to creep past the sector borders. One spot in particular that I have noticed is leaving the Xarantine sector (Hromi Cluster) towards Ganalda if I creep over the Archanis border I seem to get a proper 'Eta Eridini' Current Map.
I have been testing for sweet spots in other areas as well, I have a path in the Alpha Quadrant that works for me. I am primarily KDF but I have sent a Fed thru this path as well. I fly towards Minos Korva and can usually pick up what I think is the Alpha Trianguli 'Current Map, then I head to the very center of the Cardassian sector and see a decent Current Map. I then head towards Zenas Expanse at about half speed and sometimes see 3 different full Current Maps.
It is still a bit hit or miss but works for me most of the time.
I have been testing other areas, around B'tran and Khazan Clusters seem to work for me but overall Im not having any luck in the Beta Quadrant.
Thanks for all the info and I hope this helps too.
In Cardassian space, Arawath and Mariah sectors seems to have a good selection of cotraband DOFFjobs that show up constantly (not just on the border). The downside is, you have to go all the way to the left side of the map...
It happens on most sector borders, not just those from the Taco's map.
Also, the assignment sometimes change inside a sector, away from the border. It's not very unusual for me to see three different sets of assignments in a given sector while flying through.
I've noticed this since Season 10 launched. As I approach a border I slow down to 1/4 warp speed and when I see the Doff missions update I immediately stop. Sometimes the momentum carries me to far away from the border and the Doff missions reverts back to what they were. When this happens I fly back into the previous sector, then head back to crossing the border and hope I stop in time to catch the updated Doff missions before traveling too far again which causes the Doff missions to revert back to what they were.
Federation Doff missions are mostly static when flying over the borders. They only change once in a while. However, for the KDF it occurs pretty often from my experience especially when not in Federation space.

Sirius sector has two continuous borders (basically) on side with Alpha Quadrant and the other with Regulus....and it has no "sweet spots" on the borders that I can find.
Well, first of all...warping over to Alpha Quadrant...is warping into another map...soooo....that one side is messed up. There are couple of blocks on the Alpha Quadrant side that show no doff assignments at all, too.
I am not sure if "bumping and riding" the edge of the Beta Quadrant map along that border with Alpha Quadrant would help any. Maybe that is where the Haggle assignments are? Don't know how to find the sliver of border that would make the list change over on that side. And have not spent much time on it.
As far as the Regulus/Sirius border....that big long one.....I can not find the "sweet spot" there, either. I was crisscrossing back and forth all up and down that border while looking for Labor Camp assignments I used to find in Regulus and various Raid assignments (Raid on Terraforming Stations on Venus..etc..) that I used to find in Sirius block.
Thank goodness Regulus has several border crossings from the "Romulan" and "KDF" sides of the map where I can get the list change to trigger. Hmmm.. I haven't tried the border with Sirius from Eta Eridani or Alpha Centauri (are they even using those names any more?).
But Sirius....it must have different points where the list changes, I am not sure I want to fly all over that sector looking for them though (since I play KDF).
It may make sense to start a thread that lists these "sweet spots" and consolidate it in one place.

(above quote heavily edited for brevity)
Thank you very much for taking the time to post this. As a returning player who is very confused by all the changes, I appreciate it more than words can say.
But about that 'DOFFing regions map posted by Taco Fangs'. I searched, but didn't find it. Perhaps my Search Fu is lacking. Do you have a link, please?
I think I may have gone out of my frickin' mind with some of this stuff I am seeing......
But I thought I saw a marker with the tag "Provide Aid to Gorn Separatists" while flying around Beta Sector doing my DOFFing earlier.
It was very tiny font and only up for a split second. What the heck was I seeing? Did someone rename their ship after a DOFF assignment? Maybe? Why? To TRIBBLE with everyone's head?? (It obviously worked, right?)
Or was tags added after patch this morning? LOL! I will have to look closer, next time.
Also.... on Haggle assignments in Alpha Sector.... I am finding them while flying between Algira and Orias Sectors.
It is NOT on the border line....it is on a very faint line that is part of the back ground wall. It forms the design of a cube...call up the Area Map and you will see the design there. That is the best way I can explain it.
Also, in the Sirius/Regulus border...the assignment list changes at the "Briar Patch" on the KDF side of the border. I am coming from the "south" side of the map (KDF Starbase or Ganalda Station) so that is the location I cross that border.
NOT sure if it changes further "north" on that same vertical line.
