We really need this thing, enough said. NW has been out a while now with the same engine.

No argument here. I despise building maps right now because it's just too tedious. Constantly re-loading the map to test out a miniscule change is horrible, especially when it takes several minutes to load.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

I keep burning out on working on my missions because of the tedium of having to make little adjustments using the 2D editor we have now, waiting minutes for the game to load the map so I can check said adjustments, then repeating it over and over until things are set up right.

There's a backlog of missions that I haven't even completed because I keep burning out on the map editing whenever I try to work on them. I wish we had a 3D editor like Neverwinter got...

So, I'm not saying a 3D editor wouldn't be a huge boon for the Foundry. But, just because Neverwinter and STO are in the same engine doesn't mean they're very different, thus making porting tech a hefty challenge. The devs have said in the past that this would be a huge undertaking to implement in STO. Not saying it'll never happen, but it's not a simple request.

I really hope they do implement it. Sure, it'll be hard. But the devs got to have some hard challenged, right?

I really really want 3D foundry. I've been wanting one since (launch?)
Veteran of STO, had it for 5 years. Unfortunately, my Original account is gone.
