Sector Space Breaks episodes!!

Double Facepalm, The devs keep making the same mistakes. They continue to push out content before it is ready for release. Although, I can't be entirely sure that it is the devs setting the release dates on this content or if Perfect World is pulling the strings here.

I know I may be coming off as complaining right now and I guess I kind of am complaining but I think we deserve a little better from our game. The track record of this company isn't the greatest and I love the Star Trek IP but we need some change. Not posturing change like we saw last time where a few people were fired but actually mitigating errors and bugs in game. In the video I have linked, I talk further about some of the issues I have experienced since this new season and new sector map has been put in place. I wonder what other issues people have been experiencing besides what I have brought here.

I'd love to know if they sat one dev down to play on Tribble every episode for a week, including warping out and trying to continue each episode.

    The answer?
    No

Even the devs got caught up in the delta recruit craziness to bother with that kind of testing.

One, thing they could do is to offer rewards on the live server for testing on Tribble and I'm not talking about a new tribble but a substantial prize(maybe even zen) for our effort. I'm not sure how you would measure it but it might curb some unnecessary bugs, bugs that should be caught and there is no excuse for going to live servers.

But unfortunately, I can't see this happening.

It doesn't matter to that end. They don't do much about feedback

Uh, could you please post a concise explanation for the problem? A video is nice but it's value as a visual aid is drastically reduced if the viewer doesn't know what they're supposed to be looking for.

I think it's pretty clear in the video what is happening. I cannot start the mission fluid dynamics and the game crashes on me during the second mission in the Breen story arc.

Known problems...so what? Every mmo i played since Ultima Online had those problems and far worse problems...bugs appear..bugs get fixed...the more features a game has, then more bugs appear. Some are easier to fix than others. Call it Circle of life...

Get over it..play something else..good luck finding a game without bugs..even Tetris has them.

But please stop calling those bugs gamebreaking...i leveled 5 delta recruits...yes with bugs...but i had no problem leveling them or playing 95% of the contend. You need to adapt...learn it from the Borg :D

Isn't everyone calling me out on the mat the same thing as what I was doing toward the development of this game? Shouldn't we demand better of this game?

To the point of "every game has issues like this," there are many games that don't have this many. A bug that doesn't let you start a mission is a bit more than just a bug but a failure to details. I still like the game I just feel more attention needs to be paid to the development process and perhaps less errors will be made, the Quality control is almost non-existent for testing.

Also, it's Willaimshat because the Williamshat name was taken on YouTube when I created the account.

Yup, and you know what to do about it?

Bug report. The general forum (as pretty clearly stated) isn't the place for that kind of complaint/feedback. And if you're not going to participate so far that you'll try to write out in a clear, concise way what's wrong then why the hell are you bothering to post in this forum? If you cared you'd contribute. If you just want to posture I'm sure there's a wonderful career as a mime waiting for you (which is just saying that there are better things you could be doing instead of this).

Posting 1. an intrinsically meaningless opener in 2. the wrong forum while 3. acting as though its someone else's problem isn't going to win you any kudos.

So you admit to being arrogant and snide? I didn't start this thread to troll, people began insulting me. I didn't insult anyone I just pointed out issues with the game that are broken. You would think more of us would be frustrated with the QC of this game.

I'm sorry if you can't be bothered to watch the video and see what I am pointing to as an issue in the game. The point of the video is to demonstrate the frustration that I and many other players are experiencing. I did not just want it to be words on a forum. I appreciate the work that the devs put into the game but we all needed to proof read our reports before handing them in at school. That doesn't seem to be happening. It may be a symptom of required deadlines but some game companies still follow the model of "we'll release it when it's ready."

If you can point out some reason as to why I am incorrect about not being able to START a mission I invite it. And yes I have made a ticket and filed crash reports. This is not trolling as you would so love to think, however your initial post to me seems to be more in line with that type of behavior.

Only after being prodded. Your OP is up there for you to review again. You started with something inflamatory (ie. extrapolating before getting to any concrete issues. And no, a 15 minute youtube video does not count as a post) and were correspondly called out for it.

Then you got defensive rather than acknowledging a pretty clearly (see. last sticky) faulty approach to the problem.

You can continue relfexing an attitude but its evidently one that's projecting personal angst onto other people (namely me and cryptic) for bugs that no one who has played video games before should take serious issues with (no one has fallen through any floors here.)

My first post (the less dismissive one) said (minus the mime quip) that you should stick to bug reporting when trying to report bugs. Anything more is self-indulgent bull**** that has absolutely no constructive place in an open society (ie. a forum. Its what everyone dumps on here none-the-less but that shouldn't be encouraged because an attitude is not an effective means of communication).

You can continue ignoring that point to try to scape something from this thread, but I say yet again that there's better things you could be doing.

At the very least, if you don't have any confidence in bug reporting nothing said here (an even less direct channel and one which is probably much more strongly filtered for feedback) is likely to help.

I'm not going to argue with you anymore. There's obviously no changing your point of view and that's fine, but my point of is just that, mine and I won't apologize for it. I already explained why I did the post this way. We're now starting to circle, meeting adjourned!

First off you painted off the devs that they did everything wrong in your eyes, I'l try to explain it's all coding and codes can break when copying it and paste it to another platform all the stuff can work on their end but can fail terible on the the server. try to copy a cd 1000 times and listen to the last one you clearly hear an difference in quality my friend. Same goes with coding I'm not a dev but I did make mods for games and that was also very delicate work. 0.5 it works perfectly and put in 0.6 and the whole system crashes.
Game building isn't just typing on a computer there is far more going on out there, really and patching stuff isn't just a day at the office it's a bit more work.
Anyway if you discover a bug of some sort try to make pics from it or video and put it on youtube server and linked here on the bug report forum otherwise they never would know what you are talking about.

    Ok.

I'm not sure what other games people have played over the years but in my gaming experience I have never seen this many issues with a game before. I guess I have higher standards than many, and some of that may come from playing games from Blizzard.

Most of Blizzard's games in alpha and beta run better than most that are live. I have been in many testing phases of blizzard game production over the years. I was in alpha for HoTS, beta for Heartstone, beta for RoS and many others. The worst beta I was in for Blizzard was reaper of souls but even that beta was in good working order. The only issues I found during that testing was in game design. So I guess I am spoiled.

I don't think it is too much to ask to have less problems with this game. I didn't even bring up all the current rubber banding issues that have been going on for weeks now or the continuing power tray issues. I could go on about more but a mission not even starting, come on! I suppose I am seeing more people disagree with here because those who would agree with me have all left. I will say this on Cryptic's behalf, they do eventually fix some of the issues. There may be worse games out there but I can't recall one that has had more bugs than this one and has still been around as long as this one. My fleet is pretty much the only thing keeping me around.

You seem to have a much different experience with Blizzard than I did...... Then again, I was a modder in Diablo2 and modders tend to talk about bugs more than most.

The ground segment on Zaria is bugged for just about everyone, always at that particular point in the video. Can't play the mission or the daily without it crashing the client.
