Iconian Space Set visuals: More "EWWW!" than "OOO!"

In short, the set makes your ship look like it's all covered in herpes sores. All those inflamed bits of red. ICK!

Maybe it were changed to more purple than red, it might not look so gross.

Think I'll stick with my Ye Olde MACO set then.

Sorry, not watching a 40 min video to then only be left with questions about your experience in diagnosing STDs on starships...

Not to mention, there's always the Disable Visuals option.

The appearance is better than the Delta Shield visuals. That makes my ship look like a plastic toy :D

I just wish they'd do for ship visuals what they did for the ground sets and separate them out into the ship tailor. Own a set, add the shield visuals to selectable ship materials. Then you could pull the visuals from one set while running another.

    I'd go for that.

Pretty much this ^ I like some visuals, but not their respective sets

This was discussed in a live stream a while back that Smirk ran, apparently the ability to choose the visual appearance of your ship along the lines of Uniform unlocks, based on your Ships' unlocked visual styles, is something Cryptic would like to do but no indication when or if this is likely to happen...

Ditto, there are some really snazzy effects I'd like to have but the actual piece is meh (or at least, meh for that particular build).

Not diggin' the Iconian Rep Set visuals, both Space and Ground.

The space visuals make me think 1976, paisley.

The ground set makes me think disco leotard. Oh, and having played Champions...I know where the base appearance for that leotard came from. Nobody is fooled.

Is it really so hard to make good quality, items and sets which actually look like they belong in this universe?

    - Tron glowies on weapons
    - Mass Effect Armor sets
    - Clone Trooper assault cannons
    - The Fisher-Price Antiproton Weapons family
    - Every Klingon Disruptor having spikes on it past MK IV or so
    - Halo Covenant Polaron weapons family
    - Superhero spandex

It is really difficult to put together a decent in-universe look, when everything available looks like it came from another universe!

IMO, the ground set is worse. Especially the Nerf gun with its pulsating red light. No, actually, a couple of differently-colored Nerf guns would look more intimidating than this.

At least, the space set can look cool in sector space with its red lines.

visuals does seem lackluster compared to the likes of Dyson, Counter Command and Nukara and Maco.

Yeah the set visuals look pretty bad IMO. A major let down. Also the Radiant Antiproton beams looking like straight streams of TRIBBLE (yellow) when we already had yellow beams in the last rep is an oversight I believe, due to it being rushed or it's just straight up laziness. Beam colors need to be fixed, Radiant DBB's need to be added, and more effort needs to be put in over all when making set visuals and weapons in the future.

Don't even get me started on the disgusting ground set.

Paychecks were definitely not earned this time around.

    I'd vote for this.

agreed this is the kind of life improvement the devs should consider rather than change the ICONs on the UI every year . IMO

Or even mix and match them. Engines, shields, deflector. It's not like we have to worry about clipping. :p

And then add that function to the Foundry, so when I'm kitbashing together, say, an alien ship for a mission? I can do stuff like give it the Omega engine effect and other details.

Of course, if I really had my way there'd be a button in your ship customizer marked "Normalize" which let you set all your weapons animations to the same type. Using Vaadwaur guns and running the Omni-Beam in the back but hating how they don't match? Push that button, it replaces the Omni-beam animation with the Vaadwaur beam array animation and sound effect instead.

If you create a character on the 21st of may, will it still become a delta recruit? Or does the event end when the 21st starts (at 00:00?)???!!!

pls reply, it's already the 20st of may and i can't post my own things, only replies. Dx
