Just did a sector map count, well over 1000 in the Beta, 450+ in the Alpha, 300+ in the Delta quadrent, thats sector space, thats not talking other zones in game, or starbases, or anything.
That is 5 o clock CDT american time.
Tell me this game is dead. And cryptic does not know how to make money, or all that TRIBBLE again....

the irony is that you state that 2,000 players are on at prime time which is a staggering drop from the steam charts i saw a few months ago, even thoug hthey are not representative.
so if thats all thats left, you really shot your self in the foot here.

So yeah 2000 in sector space alone sounds fine to me.
Thanks, i am not the best at providing people information, expecially when they do not know how to read. I forget, some people, are still less privlaged, and do not know how to read.
SECTOR SPACE IS NOW three ZONES only, and it is NOT HARD to account for the population of the game.
And when your looking at STEAM charts, there are 2 ways to to log into the game and STEAM is the least favorite today, because of the promotions always rolling on ARC.

Also this is not a "Doom Thread". Try reading what the OP wrote instead of just assuming based on the title.
Assuming not everyone is playing at the same time & some might occupy other Zones etc ... we might be "in the green" ... but that's about it ...
Hate to break it to you but ~2000 (in 3 of the most important Zones), especially after another Season Launch is not that special ...
Im talking three zones out of about 1000 bro... so times 2000 by 300 even.... just cause of the planets alone.
It is not an exact number, but it puts it into an easy perspective.
AND PLEASE TELL ME EVERYONE just hangs out in sector space, and does nothing in the game, please, by all means.....
Actually, there's a third option. I use the original launcher, as I absolutely DESPISE any program similar to Steam or Arc.

And speaking of "your side of the argument," it is no side at all. You present a small sample of players in-game and then base your conclusion on assumptions made about this small sample. It would be like counting the number of people walking down a random street and then saying the city is a thriving metropolis or a ghost town without taking into account a single other factor.
