I find it kinda funny here that a new update comes out season wise and the next day they have to shut the server down to put in a patch to fix things that wprked normal before but after where broken. Same thing over again, the company fals in anyway to impress that they are professions and such at there own game, failure in proper testing was ont he tribble to find the bugs reported the same bugs that they had in there and yet didn't fix till the day after the new season. What a joke not trying to do flame war or anything just a view froma customer that will not give theme money anymore till they start properly testing material and fixing issues before rlease.
Almost every Season and Expansion has needed follow-up Patching - some on the same day, some on subsequent days. I can say the same for SWTOR and several other games I play as well. Not a big deal.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I find the lack of knowledge on how this all works......................... Disturbing.
new to the game? even some things that have been worked fine on tribble can break in holodeck . things that have been fixed on tribble can occur in holodeck again . there is also a release schedule issue ... season 10 was one of the smoot releases so far

You must be new here...welcome to STO. As far as I recall there has always been emergency patches since season 1. At times on the same date of the new version. Nothing to see here
The common misconception of those that have never done coding on any level..
'All bugs can be worked out in testing.'
This couldn't be more wrong, especially on a scale the size of STO. Simply put, there are conditions that can't be replicated in a test environment, and you're going to have issues that don't surface until the full implementation.
It happens, but there was a maintenance patch within 24 hours to fix the problems, so I'm not sure what more you could ask for. I'm not sure how many MMO's you have ever played, but bugs on launch day of a sizable expansion are common place. As long as they act quickly and fix the problems (which they did) you can't really ask for much more.
People that know me, know I'm hardly the 'white knight,' I have had some serious issue with the way some things have been done, but this complaint is off base. Honestly, the bugs that did pop up, weren't even all that bad.

This release isn't perfect but it's been less painful then other releases. Also testing environments only give you so much information. There will always be something in production that breaks what works on test.
OP must be new to MMORPGs, this is just par for the course for most if not all of them out there, ever... it doesn't work like those "World of Planes/Tanks/ect." and CoD style MMO games, MMORPGs are way more complex, sometimes just fixing one thing may break something else...

Yes but how many of them actually make the game worse with them?
I've had nothing but crashes tonight its getting god damn annoying

And I was just on for an hour and had no crashes at all; thus it is not a game-wide issue.

Indeed, if someone thinks post-expansion updates and emergency patching is something new in MMO world...... then it is probably a fair bet you have met someone who indeed was born yesterday.

At the end of the day the OP is actually saying: "I really, really, really, really, really want to play STO but I cannot and so I must blame someone or all these frustration emotions will crush me."
It is just a little sad that some people have no way of dealing with minor frustrations in their life other then run to some public forum to complain about. It is just part of the burden of dealing with the Facebook/Twitter generation; where every feeling needs to be spewed into the ether no matter how mundane.

I may draw a mark for this, but it would be worth it.
Seriously man, if you're going to be critical of this game...hell, of ANYONE...you really need to learn to write, spell, and use punctuation.
Nobody is ever going to take criticism seriously that sounds like it was written by 13 year old that broke into Dad's liquor cabinet.

You've obviously never played online games before.
I see your new to on-line games. This is normal, even the bigger named ones has issues. After updates, expansions, even a patch where to fix stuff went bad.
Normally I don't play for a couple days after they do these. To allow them time to fix it. And use that time for other things.

Perhaps take your OP offline for a bit and patch it... It hurts to read it.

Name me an MMO that hasn't had issues after a major update?
