Just as the title says my game has been crashing on load in. Suppose I should've known better than to try to play the game on patch day given the track record of connection instability on these days. With that said, earlier I had gotten into the game and so far it was good. Decided to hit up my daily dyson runs to get some dilithium and some dyson marks. low and behold about 5-10 minutes after logging in, the game crashes out on me. Now it crashes on loading and i've not been able to load back into the game since. I find this extremely irritating that there's not been a stable season launch that i've seen yet. I smell some emergency down time in the future.

Had the same problems at first, because STO wanted to use DirectX11, which didnt work. After forcing it down to DirectX9 via the commandline -d3d9 in the launcher (options).
Now it works like before the patch, though STO still kills Firefox on launch

it's worth a shot. what's the code to do that, or is the -d3d9 it?

I'm logged in with no issues whatsoever as are several members of our various fleets. Doesn't seem to be "freaking them" at all from here.
you misunderstand, when something in STO doesn't go according to the players plan its automatically cryptics fault
which admittedly a lot of the time it is but in this instance it isnt people are just being lazy arses and not updating their drivers and repairing their clients in case certain files didnt download properly etc.
and other thing you can doit is delete the file gamepref in the folder of localdata that work too i hhave same problem i doit that 2 thing and waala iam in game
Solution: Boot up STO in Safe Mode (via the launcher), then turn your graphic settings back to DX9.
DX11 is extremely buggy. Always has been. Some days it works, other days it's the piece of junk it has been for years.
You're playing with fire with DX11, no matter your PC. Play on DX9 mode.
I'll give it a try....
Strange, really...this is the 1st time I've ever had a problem with DX11...granted, the only 2 games I play with any frequency are this and Minecraft! *shrug*

Yes my PC is all updated, was not crashing till this patch. Just got home from work and was hoping to play in my small bit of free time.
Does anyone test this crud before it goes live?

#facepalm at anecdotal evidence.
