...why not the Zencathy? There was supposed to have been this MASSIVE war with them and yet we get the Voth, Vauudwar, Kobali. And why no cooler species, like the Vidians and ESPECIALLY the Kremin?
The Vidiians have been cured of the Phage for 30 years now, they're just boring ol' random aliens now.
there nothing to ever state they were cured, it was impied they were without anything but someones word to back it up, and that person in question was already suspect for kidnapping 7 of 9 to begin with.
unless you have hard proof they were, your opinion is invalid.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

His opinion is as valid as yours. Lack of hard evidence merely means it is not fact.

Unless the Think Tank didn't cure it as well as they thought, or if there are Krenim temporal shenanigans involved. Heck, maybe the Phage mutated and came back with a vengeance, or a bunch of Vidiians didn't take their Phage vaccinations. Plenty of ways to put the Vidiians back in.

One other option. They could have lied knowing that the Vidiians were a few years behind them knowing full well that voyager wouldn't be going back to verify. For all we know they knew about the phage because they gave it to them in behalf of some one else. they do not exactly seem like the honest type.

The eponymous "Think Tank" group in the Voyager episode of the same name claimed to have cured it. Of course, that's long after Voyager left Vidiian space behind so we never get to see if its true.

Exactly. There's plenty of ways around the Thought Tank issue to work the Vidiians and the Phage back into play, and I hope they do. The Vidiians were one of Voyager's more interesting and most gruesome antagonists.
Then I guess your opinion was invalid, too. There was never anything that said the Vidiians weren't cured either.
I agree there are ways to get around it. But the Vidiians deserve to have a happy ending. They've been dying off for centuries. They're weren't really villains, but just desperate.

Roughly the zencathy or whatever are the ferasan except to make it true to the soft canon of them you need a way to think about veggies to counter them.
The phage was claimed to be cured but there was never any actual evidence of it just what the think tank claimed to have accomplished.
I would say it would be welcomed for some of the weaker areas like bops and science ships that we could get some of these *made up* things that were talked about if that is how they have to do it for licensing purposes and all that. I just find in all though the game is so much less enjoyable when you are forced to not play the kinds of ships you want to play because of game mechanics.

The Vidiians and the Krenim? Meh.
I agree that the Vaadwaur aren't really interesting. Even with Iconian technology they should still pose no threat to anyone. I mean, their computers are so old you can jump on them (Dust to Dust). To me the Vaadwaur were just another evil ruler species like we had already seen with the Cardassians. Their tech isn't interesting, nor is their culture if you ask me.
I never really understood why people considered the Krenim to be interesting either.
Voth culture, being one of the oldest non- god like cultures that is still around, on the other hand could have been much more interesting but the Voth were basically added as cannon fodder and not much else (the story with Nelen Exil excluded).
So yeah, it's basically what JamJamz said. If they had added the Krenim and the Vidiians I would, indeed, have asked why they chose those, IMO, uninteresting species.

So the question remains, is Star Trek: The Animated Series (or Animated Adventures) canon, or not? We would like to think so, if only so we can make more work for ourselves and all future historians! At some point, we would like to start adding more information to our site gleaned from this show and have it form part of the overall collective consciousness of Star Trek. Or, do we simply leave the whole issue ambiguous and let the fans decide in their own mind what they consider canon? Put to a recent vote on the site, fans favored the canonization of the animated series by a margin of more than 2-1. Let the white smoke billow!
Previously only one episode had specifically been accepted, since it dealt with Spock's childhood.
Licensing rights to the name are the messy bit.
Kzinti were going to be in enterprise, but it got canceled. The bizarre three-boobed feline in the nimbus scene of star trek v was named in some production notes as a kzinrreti, which was Niven's name for the genetically engineered non-sentient female of the species.
Even if the vidiians are cured, I think there's still a story there. They spent years harvesting the organs of other species by force. That wouldn't soon be forgotten, and many of them would feel remorse at what they had to do. I think that the story of the aftermath of the phage would be really interesting.
Didn't the krenim get trashed by a vaadwaur surprise attack?
So it seems. And judging by what we last saw from the Krenim in Voyager they aren't villains anymore. It's much more likely the will join the coalition.
If we did the Tzenkethi, Vidiian, & Krenim, someone would be asking why not the Voth, Vaadwaur or Kobali.
One thing at a time.
Personally id love to have the cardassians to finish the alpha quads major govts at this point id rather see them as a playable unlock like youve done with.
Caitians , ferasans and so on i would pay 1K zen to play as an unlockable cardassian.
but if not the cardassians i think and i know im gonna catch hell but have the Kobali as a new faction along the lines as you guys did with the rom republic.
I could easily see a new kobali faction being put into the game where we have to choose fed or kdf once we hit level 10.
i would like to get to know the kobali more after how you guys implemented them into the game i fnd them an intruiging race.

They were Paramount's answer to avoiding legal action by Larry Niven's estate because Niven wrote a TAS episode based on his 'Tale of Known Space" short story titled "The Soft Weapon". The TAS version was entitled "The Slaver Weapon" and featured an appearance by his sentient feline 'Kizinti' race. If you read the story and saw the TAS episode it's hilarious because Niven placed Mr. Spock in the role a 'Puppeteer' (a really interesting yet somewhat insane race from Niven's Universe) and it actually worked (IMO.)
Anyway, Niven never gave permission for 'Kiziti' to appear in other Star Trek stories, and when a DS9 script mentioned them, and the Niven estate found out, the producers had the cjhoice of negotiating and paying a fee, or changing the reference. They opted for the latter and thus the "Tzenkethi" (another sentient feline race that ALSO had come into conflict with Humans and the Federation; but were definitely NOT "Kizinti") were 'born.'

I like both the speed and the content of this answer. It makes me happy somehow.

S11 : Space Whales with Laz0rs attached to their heads :P
Not sure what you mean by veggies. Or by soft canon. The Niven setting is non canon. The slaver weapon was non canon from 1988 - 2006. In 2006 paramount officialy declared the animated series canon. Though they pulled their official canon list from startrek.com in 2010, the announcement is forever preserved on the way back machine:

Memory alpha has two very awesome images of the ship design and the updated kzinti alien design.
