Tom Paris - Reporting for Duty!

We're excited to announce that Voyager star Robert McNeill will be joining the cast of STO and reprising his role as Tom Paris. Our lovable wise-cracking pilot is back to help us in the fight against the Iconians.

Captain Proton, Spaceman First Class, Protector of Earth, Scourge of Intergalactic Evil, at your service!

    This is great! Tom Paris was always one of my favourite characters in Star Trek. Welcome to STO Robert Duncan McNeill! :)

    btw, I think this time the face of the character didn't turn out quite as well as most other charcters in game.

    Wow. Seems almost all the cast save for Janeway and Chakotay are in now.

    And I just can't see Tom as a Admiral, but heck. I'm liking this so far.

    Wonder if we're gonna get a new BOff or the like for the Pilot ships?

    So what did happen to make sure his rank pips are held on with velcro? Because I heard rumours involving the Vulcan Ambassador's shuttlecraft...:P

    Also going to be interesting to see how interactions between Tom and Miral play out.

    This pleases me... I always liked Robbie McNeill, glad to see him doing some VO work for STO :)

    Would be nice. Maybe not even captain proton, but the option to do ground combat in a monochromatic environment.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Anyone else notice, that Robert McNeill doesn't seem to have any noticeable gray hair in real life, but Tom Paris in STO, his hair is nearly white? lol

    Well sense they bothered to make a model of his old voyager uniform I am assuming we are getting another time travel story. Anyways part of me (A small part) is half expecting to see Roxanne Dawson revealed in the next few days just so they can have the whole Paris family for the sake of having it.

    Cool, another canon character who was in Starfleet before any of my characters were born and they now massively out rank.

    Good to see him on board though.

    The top half of his face looks really well done but everything below eye level seems a little elongated. The nose and the chin especially but the mouth looks spot on.

    I wonder what kind of ship he'll be captaining? Probably an tactical ship for the maneuverability.

    Also hoping for maybe a full Delta Flyer interior for shuttles or a Captain Proton Doff.

    Please announce B'elanna Torres will also be in Season 10!

    Great to hear that Robert Duncan McNeill is joining the cast of Star Trek Online! I welcome him on-board and look forward to my toons meeting Captain Tom Paris!

    And I agree with the couple of posts above regarding adjustable ranks. All I ever wanted to be was the captain of a starship. Still can't get on-board with the idea of a Fleet Admiral mining for dilithium or going into the trenches in the middle of a battlefield.

    Well, in real life he's only aged by 14 years, in STO he's aged by 32 years.

    Tom Paris is perfect introduce for pilot boffs and T6 escorts. And as a character, i think he can be a member of the group of Starfleet officers, those who always do not perform according to the rules, but they do what they think is right.

    what we get?

    More celeb VOs and who foots the bill?

    Us players we keep spending im as guilty as anyone else but i keep hoping for those fixes maybe i should give up the hope it seems to be forbidden on this game.

    Very cool!

    I do agree that the face seems rather narrow compared to how he looked in the show.

    Not too far off from this pic from 2009, though:

    Probably fine for the older "Captain" Paris and I could see them not wanting to mess around with making his face look a lot different for the younger version.


    Getting Roxann Dawson to reprise her role as B'Elanna would be icing on the cake if we got the entire Paris family! There's still time for a blog! (No idea whether this is something that will actually happen).

    I am a bit stoked to see Tom Paris making a cameo in this. With this I do have some hop of seeing B'Elanna as well; bring the whole family in for this.

    I do have to wonder if the model for him is just an earlier version though. With the proportions of his jaw and neck, I thought he looked a bit more like Grand Moff Tarken.

    He's commanding his own ship eh? It wouldn't a be a certain T6 Fed Escort with a Pilot Hybrid seat, would it?
