Jupiter Class Concept version 2

Jupiter Class Heavy Carrier

Spreading over a whopping 1500 meters, the Jupiter class is the largest vessel constructed by the Federation but of course with such size this Juggernaut has very poor speed and turn rate.
This vessel was originally designed to take the fight to the Borg. Just mere talk of the Jupiter can strike fear.


Unique Hanger Pets: Federation Heavy Drones. (Looks like a larger version of the Peregrine)
These Drones are unmanned and larger than the Runabout and carry a larger payload of weapons

  • Standard Version: (fore) Quantum Torpedoes x1 Phaser array x1 dual phaser banks x1 (aft)
    phaser array x1 (abilities) Torpedo High Yield 1; Beam Overload 1; Self Termination Mode

  • Advanced Version: +1 Quantum Torpedo Launcher (aft) (abilities) Beam Overload 2; Torpedo High Yield 2

  • Elite Version: +1 Phaser dual cannons (fore); (abilities) Torpedo Spread 1

  • Launches 1 at any given time
  • Recharge time: 60 sec's

    The Self Termination Mode activates when the Drones hull falls under 25%. The Drone will attach itself to the enemies hull and explodes causing a large amount of kinetic damage.

Unique Console Ability: Auto-Targeting Defense System or A.T.D.S.

The A.T.D.S. is an auto-targeting defense system that can toggle between phaser cannons or tachyon beams
(4 turrets each side). The turrets will randomly choose their target or the captain can direct the turrets to attack the carriers target. The turrets will always stay active as long as the console is equipped.
(The A.T.D.S. may only be equipped on the Jupiter Class or the fleet variant).

  • Minimum Rank: 50 (Vice Admiral)
  • Hull 43,000
  • Shield Modifier: 1.1
  • Weapons: 3 fore 3 aft
  • Hanger Bays: 2
  • Crew: 3600
  • Bridge Officers: Lieutenant Tactical; Commander Engineering; Lieutenant Commander Science; Ensign Engineering Lieutenant universal
  • Device Slots: 4
  • Consoles Modifications: 2 Tactical; 4 Engineering; 3 Science
  • Turn Rate: 5.5
  • Impulse Modifier: 0.19
  • Bonus Power: +10 Auxiliary Power; +10 Shield Power
  • Cost: 2500 ZEN
  • Subsystem Targeting
  • Federation Heavy Drones
  • A.T.D.S.


Fleet Variant: Chronus Class (Greek Name for Saturn). Slightly more tactical looking and more ridged ends to it.
Not putting the whole description in again.
  • Hull: 47,000 vs 43,000
  • Shield Modifier: 1.25 vs 1.1
  • Consoles: 5 Engineering; vs 4 Engineering
  • Cost: 20K Fleet Credits 4 Fleet Ship Module's (Only 1 Module if Standard Version is Owned)
    (Must have Tier 5 Shipyard)
  • Unlocks Chronus Costume Parts.

I updated it and tried to make it a bit more easy to read. This is my last version. Thanks for the support guys.

And thank you Kamakaze101 for showing Cryptic we still care about the Jupiter and Typhoon.

    Your Heavy Drone Fighters have a Frigate Layout and not a shuttle layout. You have 6 weapons and 4 abilities. The Elite Fer'jai Frigate has 5 Weapons and 4 abilities. Therefore, this setup could only launch 1 at any given time.

    Then make them frigates, really like the concept of a Frigate ship for Federation, have been missing those for far too long :)

    The Hindenberg was the largest aircraft ever built and look how that turned out. Funny how the Jupiter looks similar to it.

    B) Jupiters aren't filled with Hydrogen (i think :P)

    While we're at it, let's add a Saturn Class to balance the ugliness of the newly added Jupiter Class.
    I would love to visit this star in-game...or maybe this one!

    I'd go with a Venus class escort ship, with 2 big dual heavy cannons and a docking bay

    With a Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune classes, this just means we need a Pluto-class shuttle with a Charon torpedo pet that follows it.

    I think Cryptic needs to reboot the Multi-Vector Escort before a M.V. Battle Cruiser.

    I was thinking about bacon, I MEAN thinking about making so the A.T.D.S.'s phaser cannon mode can use BOFF powers like cannon rapid fire and scatter volley.. but I don't know if that would be over powered..... :(

    It seems to me that the ability to use bridge officer powers with console abilities is something better suited to being a set bonus. Perhaps the Jupiter Dreadnought and Typhoon Battlecruiser could be released simultaneously, thereby enabling the use of BO powers without being OP and we could get two ships at a slight discount. We get awesomeness, Cryptic gets more money, everybody wins (I crack myself up).:cool:

    I agree with you but, you kinda dug up a zombie concept thread I made over a year ago. 😶

    Sure they are. The impulse drives are fusion drives. Deuterium is a hydrogen isotope. Gonna be having a lot more hydrogen in it then the Hindie ever dreamed of.
