    noticed somethign this morning.
the file name/version name which shows up whenn starting is

    sto.47.20150315a.22

but the one after you log out and its trying to patch is

    sto50.20150401a.9

it's loading slow and keeps stopping, then restarting from the beginning. usually a patch will store the bit it's done and then continue on from there.

What I'd really like to know is, what is this small file that keeps patching over and over again when I launch the launcher or shut down the game?

somethings fubar.. I cant get back in the game now.. launcher is taking long min to load.

Somebody did something they might have, shouldn't have done I think. Dammit.. I so wanted to get my Klingon to 60 today too.

10 min waiting on the launcher to load so far. What a mess.. horrid rubber banding all day long...something I usually don't deal with.. it's been boarder line unplayable.

update: launcher up logged into the system sorta.. showing version ST 47.20150315a.22

apparently checking for a patch..not finding... time my clock 2:38 PST

update: Launched finally, at character selection... but, character images not showing, and cannot launch into game it self yet.. Time 2:53 PST

I have been getting kicked repeatedly, over and over again for almost a week, around the time this thread went up is when it started. I am not able to get back in half the time, I am wondering if I am the only one who this issue has not been resolved for?

Hey guys, just wanting to checkmark something here. Anyone here a European player that is having serious latency issues as of last week?

For some reason, I was noticing a slight trend of players commenting in tandem with their "my connection has actually been just fine" with "...and I'm not even in the US!"

Not European, but in the UK, which is close.

Yeah, been having lag. Not been too bad until today, though...

Goes in fits and starts, one day ok then one day so awful I tend to just sit and chat with friends in game.

Also noticed time of day has effect on lag issues etc.

Hey guys, just wanting to checkmark something here. Anyone here a European player that is having serious latency issues as of last week?

For some reason, I was noticing a slight trend of players commenting in tandem with their "my connection has actually been just fine" with "...and I'm not even in the US!"
UK based - had a little lag here and there but nothing serious.
    Get the odd DC too.

Netherlands. Probably a stone throw away from your folks in Amsterdam.
No problems connecting, but lagg in space and ground maps is horrible atm.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Just going to repost this here in the main thread. I know people are concerned about the latency issues. I just want to say that we are too.

There are a ton of variables that need to be taken into consideration, when you have a problem such as this that's affecting certain players than others. You look over demographics. Are all the players experiencing latency issues exclusively from one region? No, it's more generalized? Ok, next route of questioning. Is it failed routing through a switch that's mismanaging certain networking? Yay or nay?

If it's as simple of an ah-ha moment, the team usually catches it within an hour or so from the point of entry. This is where we see a whole lot of failed maps specific to an event and go "that's a pattern!" This is where we see that for some reason one of the Boston routers is glowing red and hissing at us.

If it's not one of those, it's usually a more nebulous problem that requires more time before we can find the solution. Are we still looking though?

    You're damn right we are.

i guess if you ban enough people for complaining about the lag then maybe you'll see that there's a problem.
feel free to ban me again if it helps make the game better, it's only a forum :)

I'm a 2 hour drive to the servers. Packets get routed through New Britain, CT-> Hartford, CT-> NYC-> Boston, and I still get the occasional "server not responding" and lag and random disconnects. This morning I got disconnected 3 times.

No, only the flaming/trolling and obscenities used in your prior posts. But if you insist, I am more than happy to oblige.

The funny thing about this post is, you're actually insulting the wrong person.

You're basically shooting the messenger for trying to get things fixed.

In the UK, I don't experience much latency during the day (local time), but once we enter into American prime time it's dreadful. Single player missions are generally ok, but any type of team mission or busy social map and I'm rubber banding all over the place. Just ran an ISA and it was really bad, then a CCA and that too was bad. Yet I'd ran them earlier in the day without any issues. Also, when I beamed down to SF Academy to log out for the night I kept rubber banding back about 20 meters as I was running over to the Lore officer.
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.

After thursday patchings, my launcher comes up fine but fails to authenticate me to account server.
I wonder if more people see that we should start a new thread about authentication rather than launcher issues.

Trendy, Is this just a joke?, or are you really having trouble with one of the Boston servers? I ask this cause I'm experiencing problems myself and I'm not that far from Boston.

Sorry if it's otherwise obvious, I've pulled a double and my mind if fried due to lack of rest.

To my knowledge, none of our servers are currently hissing at us.
And you should get some rest :)

You can catch more bees with honey than you can with vinegar but it seems like someone drank all the honey and soaking the player base with vinegar and you get such reactions.
