With everyone off creating new Delta Recruits, I've seen a bunch of new alien races wandering the galaxy. Show off yours here!

This is Recklar, my Fed Delta Recruit. Commands the U.S.S. Alliance, a Galaxy-class exploration cruiser. He's a Donian, one of many who abandoned his homeworld after it became uninhabitable. After working as a terraformer for several years, he decided to pursue a life of adventure in Starfleet.

This is Zirmok, one of my Recklar's bridge officers. I haven't really created a backstory for her yet.

ab12c8.jpg
And this is Sakoun, my Republic Delta Recruit. A Makaran who escaped to Virinat after Makar was annexed by Sela's forces in 2391.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

Wow. Awesome idea for a thread that I've never seen before.

    I like your Recklar a lot. :)

    Will post my aliens later.

This is Centurion Herold. Before he volunteered into the Romulan Republic Navy, he was an intergalactic supermodel. He felt quit well on his home planet Wukina, but eventually all the parties were too boring for him and he was looking for the adventure. So he wandered across the quadrant and finally came to rest on New Romulus, shortly after the colonization by the refugees of the Empire. Herlod is a nice guy but sometimes the diva emerges in him and this is quit disturbing to others. He has some scientific training, so he serves as science officer aboard the R.R.W. Tarsia.

For my Delta recruit, I decided to create a Space Quest crew. In the foreground here, you can see my attempt at Flo and Droole.

Flo is a Ugoid from UglyStick IV and Droole is of an unspecified alien race from the Gargoyle Cluster.

    2m5o0ab.png

Technically Cliffy (the heavyset guy behind Flo) is of an alien race too, but Scottyoids have no features that distinguish them from humans other than an unfortunate accent.

Well, since half-Klingons are not a thing in STO... it is a custom alien! :D

Undine actually, just one of various appearances she's taken over her history as an infiltrator.

Here is Talia, my Chthon. A demon looking race. Now if only they would give us the ability to add skinny reptilian tails to our aliens.

Kinda hate to quote myself, but I want you guys to know to what I refer. I have added a writeup on the species Talia is part of. You can find it HERE.

I love those games. In my eyes, for the little it's worth, you won the thread.

Heh, thanks. I want to get Cliffy into a merc vest, since it will look more accurate and I would also like to create an SQ4 outfit for Beatrice. Eventually I might try to do a Sludge Vohaul character or even Fester Blatz, Arnoid or W-D40 if I can piece together reasonable approximations. As you can see, Droole doesn't look quite right because you can't (as far as I know) make a featureless face.

Some sequel police might be cool too :)

    Capt. Xho'axcon (science career)
Captain of the U.S.S. Olympus Mons, a Andromeda Class Fleet Exploration Cruiser.

Originally he didn't wear a beard, but i think it gives him a bit more authority.

Yup, beard was definitely the way to go.

The flipside of that is that a good man needs a good beard, but a bad guy usually has a well-trimmed goatee.

This is my Fed Science Main, named Kane. He's a Kilon from the Andromeda Galaxy.

The Kilons will be featured in my upcoming Foundry release, "Days of Future Past".

One of my Romulan Republic officers (Klingon-alligned), he's based on the Neosapians from the old cartoon "ExoSquad".

    screenshot_2015-05-02-15-04-49_zpsim94blnv.jpg

Another Romulan Republic alien, a little less alien this time; Iliana D'Vas is half-Romulan, half-Cardassian, inspired by the idea of the Dominion internment camps as seen in DS9 "In Purgatory's Flame" and "In Shadow's Light" where various prisoners, including survivors of the joint Obsidian Order/Tal Shiar attack on the Founders, were held.

An attempt at creating a 'Child of Tama' during the 'When the Sector Walls Fell' giveaway. I just can't seem to get the head ridges and skin color right...

I tried to create an Alien 'APU' BOff. I managed to get the shape of the head, the colors (mostly) and such right... but it still looks just too organic to be a good APU...

i would definitely love to see the slider settings for that; my own attempt at making a vaadwaur was...less than successful
