Question for Guardian Class

Howdy, just got back into the game and I wound up grabbing one of the new T6 ships, now I've got a question.

I pretty much tank so I run full beams with a torpedo fwd and aft as well as some mines I like to launch when I'm doing my turn.

My problem is that with the new stuff all thrown out I don't know which beam arrays (phaser please) are best set up for my ship, where do I grab em and how much of a pain is it gonna be to do so?

    Unless you want to hand over a lot of Dilithium for Undine rep Biomolecular Phasers, or Dil and Fleet Credits for Fleet Advanced / Elite Phasers, the Exchange should be your first stop for new weapons. Rarity and mods are mostly personal preferences when it comes to PvE, but Mk XI and XII uncommon/rare weapons are fairly affordable at the moment. Also consider checking the story mission rewards, since a few of them definitely award Phaser Beam Arrays.

    As far as the setup is concerned, I suggest at least 3 beams each foreign and aft, with the 4th foreign slot to preference (ie. DBB or torp). Mines are a bit clumsy on a slower cruiser, so consider only one aft torpedo, or even better the Kinetic Cutting Beam from the Omega rep (paired with the Assimilated Console).

    If you can afford it, I also recommend looking for an Omni-directional Phaser Beam Array on the Exchange, but prices do start at a few million credits.

    Thanks for the advice man, slogging thru the exchange is a bit of a hassle since I ain't really touched it since 2012 but the advice is sound. so thanks again man.

    The most desired types of Weapons are the [CritD] Weapons (Bonus to Critical Damage.)

    You can aquire Mark XII CritDx2 Phasers from the Undine Reputation Store for just under 20k Dil Each. Now, I know that sounds like a lot, but it really isn't. Just roll with what you have now, grind your 8k per day and every 3 days buy 1 new beam.

    The big downside to the Undine Phasers is that they're green and not Orange like normal Phasers or Blue like TOS Phasers. This bothers some people, others don't care.. up to you.

    If you really have to have Orange Phasers, your best bet is to to check the exchange regularly as these prices fluctuate considerably. If you really want to save money, I bought several Mark II CrtDx2 Arrays and just upgraded them. I have purchased Purple Mk II CrtDx2 Beams for as low as 25k EC each, they're pretty cheap. Thing is, if you don't have Omega Kits and just use Improved or Superior Kits it ends up costing you right around 20k Dilithium to get them to Mark XII so around the same as the Undine Store Beams, but they'll be Orange instead.

    If you upgrade them from Mk II though, you might get a quality upgrade to UR and get a CrtDx3 Beam, which is quite a score. That of course is like winning the lottery though, odds are not great.. but it's happened to me on more then one occasion.
