Giveaway - Fleet Repositories (yes, free!)

wired2thenetwired2thenet Member Posts: 74 Arc User
Next Monday, April 6th, I'm willing to "give away" 2 fleet repositories each for 3 lucky fleets (Fed Side - I can do so on KDF side as well, but I'll need to transfer everything over to my alt, which will take a bit of time).

I did so tonight, but got trolled by one user who demanded the EC be sent via Email or through trade. I don't do that, and won't do that. All you need to do is set the permissions correctly via your fleet interface to allow me to either deposit or purchase the slots directly (the latter is preferred so I can insure that this is where the EC is going to).

Because of this troll, I was so fed up during this gifting moment, that the one fleet who contacted me got all 8 slots opened, and additionally I contributed 20k~ dilithium and quite a few DOFFs to their fleet projects as well. I do this kind of thing because it's just a game, and I like helping people out from time to time, when I can afford to do so.

So, next Monday, when I'm online (probably starting around 6pm CST -- I'll update this thread later in the week), if you are in a small or brand new fleet, and actually have members and your fleet needs a little help, I'll be giving away more fleet repositories. 6 total, divided amongst 3 fleets, during this event. I'm even willing to help some larger fleets, depending on their needs ... just let me know via email and if I can help, I will. If 3 fleets don't contact me, I'll divide those slots between those who do (and will purchase the last slot as well if only one contacts me).

That's ~1.23million EC per fleet bank repository. I have plenty to spare, and want to give something back to the community. I may even contribute a bit to your fleet holdings (I have a bit of dilithium I can spare ... hint hint for those fleets whose members are failing to donate to the project), if I have the funds or items available at the time (I'm currently swimming in a LOT of R&D mats ... I mean seriously swimming in them ... If you have crafters to fund, I'm your Ferengi).

All you have to do if you're a fleet leader is to set the LOWEST rank to not be able to retrieve any items or EC, and to allow them to deposit (no withdrawal of any kind). And/Or allow them to purchase repositories. For fleet holdings, you can set the lowest rank to contribute (why aren't you doing that to begin with???) to the projects. That's all.

So ... if you're a fleet leader, in need of a little help with your fleet's bank and maybe some projects, feel free to contact me next Monday (April 6th) after ~6pm CST. If you're KDF, let me know as well, so I can prepare my alt with all the necessary stuff when needed. I may not be able to help much, but what I can give, I will.

Why am I doing this? For the record, I'm a Lifetime subscriber, and I'm in a fleet of one, the Dirty Angels. I made this fleet so I could experiment with the fleet interface. I design games as a hobby, and wanted to test the strengths and weaknesses of STO's guild interface (like I do in other games). I'm a casual player, but have managed to accrue a bit of resources (well, a modest amount, at any rate) that I'm not quite using to the full advantage (yet). I don't have the best build, and don't really care. I can hold my own in normal queues, and do somewhat okay in Advanced. But ultimately it's just a game that I enjoy. I could sell all this on the exchange for EC, but I'm happy with what I have already.

And I know how difficult it is for small fleets to progress, and I know bank holdings help a bit. I have a suli cell ship I offer between queues on the NoP channel. I like STO. The only thing I ask is that you pay it forward. I don't know if you will, but that's the goal. Pay it forward.

@wired2thenet in-game. Feel free to send an email ahead of time, but note that when the event starts, it will be on a first-come, first-served base.

Again, I'll update this post at the end of the week with more specific times.

Definitely send me a PM. Even if you don't get the 1st come, 1st served in time, I will gladly help a bit. It's small fleets (esp family-oriented) that I want to help the most :). I do verify through the roster and fleet bank that everything's on the legit, which is why I require the fleet invite.

Sorry to hear some greedy jerk was trying to take your EC, it's a really nice thing you're doing.
