Has anyone purchased any of these weapons? It seems under their description it lists the damage type as PHASER. Is this just a typo, or did crypic really mess these two weapons up? Has anyone tested them that can confirm or deny.
I haven't gotten any straight answers so I thought i'd start a discussion. Especially since i'm incorporating these types of weapons in my setup.

Thank you kindly.
Probably a typo, each weapon has its own damage. That for antiproton is.... Antiproton damage.

Actually it's not just a typo. I just bought it and after mousing over the skill it says Phaser damage. Not only that, when i read the description it states adding skill points into phaser.
(EDIT)
YES i can confirm the combat log states it uses PHASER damage type.
This need to be FIXED. I don't want to risk putting points into Antiproton and not see a benift from my Dual Beams.
I just bought some and they show the same DPS as my Phasers with all the same mods, so it looks to be getting the same bonus. I tested it in combat too.
I wouldn't mind it this way until they can offer a respec. Also if they stack with the antiproton skill it would now make sense why the skill is so pricey.

Going to buy more now, thanks for the info.
No it shouldn't stack with the antiproton skill since it's using phaser damage. Under the description of the Dual beam bank, it states that it uses the phaser damage skill. Under the regular beam array, it says antiproton damage skill. So they're inconsistant.

Since it is the only one like that I am guessing it is a bug. I reported it in game.
They're still bugged and do not benefit from +antiproton consoles as they should.
I can confirm this. They're not benefitting AT ALL from Antiproton mag tac consoles.
I have 2 antiproton dual cannons, a dual beam array and a beam array and only the cannons go up in damage when adding Antiproton mag tac consoles.

So not only did they become useless for those who had points I phaser skill but they became useless to everyone who has any skills in energy type. WTB actual internal testing for this game, I have a feeling we're going to see just as many obvious bugs for the lastest patch as the last one which also obviously released 100% untested. Have not had the chance to try the patch out yet but will do as soon as I get home.
I do think it's rather shameful to release a patch claiming these weapons have been fixed, but have only fixed 1/2 the weapon.
I can confirm that the attributes to modify the damage of the dual beam bank still use PHASER consoles. The only thing changed was the actual damage itself, not the mods. So basically it's still useless.
technically right now anti-protons the best its likely going to be if it does the anti-proton damage with the anti-proton critical increase and being boosted by one of the cheapest energy damage type skills...

If i were in a cruiser or an science vessel, yes
But dammit, i'm in an escort and i don't want to have to swap in PHASER CANNONS when i have two sets friggin purple rarity dual antiproton cannons.
Its nice that the phaser tac consoles are cheap, but i have FOUR mk X common and uncommon Antiproton consoles just waiting to be used!

Correct me if I'm wrong but the "hidden" / "unlisted" proc on anti-proton weapons is a chance to ignore shields as well.

Fix the bug!
second question, what items affect its damage now?
"Does this look infected to you?"
Far side of the moon?
You're welcome.
