Please for the love of god can we please cool it with the frekin fail conditions in Advanced STF's!? Ive gotten early fails in five Borg STF's in a row. If this were elite I could understand, but in advanced, which is still the best way to get Neural processors, this NEEDS to end. Please, before enjoyments with the que system is further degraded beyond its already destroyed state

Did you cause the failure?
If yes, then stop...find somebody to help you understand the STF, with your piloting, your build - so you can better contribute to a chance at success rather than causing failure.
If no, then don't you wish those folks would stop...find somebody to help them understand the STF, with their piloting, their build - so they could better contribute to a chance at success rather than causing failure.
Can kind of see where I'm pointing fingers there...yeah?
No I did not cause the fail in any of those games, but that kind of misses the point. For something that is primarily done with pugs (not always I know but sometimes no one in the fleet is on, or is busy with their own goals) and is not the most advanced content is WAAYY too easy to hit a nasty fail condition followed by a lengthy lockout period. I feel like this is inappropriate for advanced.

But it sounds like you're actually pointing the fingers at the same folks there...that if they knew a bit more, built a bit better, or flew a bit better...there would be no problem in the least just blowing through them and getting your stuff, yeah?
Just throwing this out there for those of you out there like the OP that are having difficulty with the advanced PVE's/STF's.

1. If you fail 5 times in a row, it's probably your fault.
2. Play Normal if you can't handle Advanced.
3. If entering a mission you know you can't handle and hoping a bunch of randoms can carry you is your idea of best way to do anything, you deserve to fail. If you want to be carried, get a private queue with a team that's OK with it. In a PUG, expect to pull your own weight.

3. If entering a mission you know you can't handle and hoping a bunch of randoms can carry you is your idea of best way to do anything, you deserve to fail. If you want to be carried, get a private queue with a team that's OK with it. In a PUG, expect to pull your own weight.
And, if you pull your own weight + the weight of other's and, they cause the fail, what than?
What is your they should run normal or, pull their own weight excuse for this one?
The main problem that I have experienced is team mates that have not bothered to read & understand the mission objectives, failure conditions & tactics then dive right in & cause failures.
For example, knowing the different tactics for Azure Nebula Rescue Normal vs Advanced.
The optional objective in both is to free 3 Romulan ships in under 3 minutes. I recommend that you go after the low value ships, 1's & 2's, before any others. While in Normal, you can ignore this & fail the optional objective & yet still win the mission, while in Advanced, you must successfully complete the optional or else you fail the mission entirely, so therefore I highly recommend that everyone go after only the lowest value ships before any others. Additionally, I recommend splitting off into 2 groups, 1 group of the 2 strongest ships & 1 group of the rest. This way you will almost be 100% assured of successfully completing the optional in Advanced.
I rarely see this happen, where the team actually coordinates & works together. Thus many failures.
If players bothered to do just a little preliminary coordination then you'd win more often.
Now, that being said, some players that can do lots of damage very quickly, like myself, can take on 1's & 2's by themselves & have no problems defeating the Tholians in a timely fashion. In this case, the team can split into 3 groups & defeat the Tholians & free ships even quicker. However, this situation is very rare.
Now, I heard that the Borg Advanced stf's got nerfed to the point of being impossible to win. I have not attempted any of these since the most recent patch, so I may need to adjust my tactics.
So, the point is that if you've never attempted Advanced, then please do all of us a favor & educate yourself BEFORE jumping in.
When DR came out, the borg stfs changed. They required tactics and suddenly tanks and crowd controllers got useful again. People had to use tactics, even the raw dspers have to use tactics now.
Still though the high dspers can do this with a raw damage strategy, but gone are the days where 1 or 2 dspers can carry the entire team.
Although they're not impossible to do, they can easily fail if a team gets sloppy

Nah, they aren't impossible. They are not cruise in and get the schwag using Mk X white gear anymore though. Remember when they came out a Mk XII VR loadout would take you months if not over a year to get. Since Mk XII VR is now becoming basic equipment, folks should plan on having to put some effort into UPGRADING again.
Pre DR I used to PUG ISE a few times a week, pull my 15k and yawn. After DR and the gnashing of teeth over the meanie borg not being little bunnies we can kick in the head for fun anymore I went back to doing normal while I rebuilt my ship. Active upgrading took me a couple of weeks. Big difference from the months it took back in the olden days.
I have been pugging ISA again for about 3 days now. Succeeding a lot more than failing. I'm flying a T5U FA or a Presidio. The FA is still a tick better on DPS but both are solidly in the mid 20's. So 25k is the new 15k.
Oh yeah, and when pugging. Don't do it at US prime time. For some reasons my fellow Americans are the friggin' worst at thinking they can go in with their T4/5nonU rattle traps and DESERVE! to be handed a victory based on their special snowflakeness.
TL;DR - Advanced has gotten harder. UPGRADE your equipment. You can't win ISA in a ship that barely got you through ISE. Be glad you get anything for a failure. YOU FAILED. They gave you a smaller trophy for showing up.
Having it where the only way you get BNP's out of Infected is the new nerfed Task forces is insane. You NEED to grind these out to get your gear and at the new difficulty level it's just unplayable. Unplayable at a grinding level. The new missions where you fail all the time would be a good idea if they had added them as a third level and the rewards were things you want rather than things you NEED. Borg neural processors are something you NEED. Extra Dilithium or cosmetic uniforms with special shiny gold colors is something you want. It's great to have eliete levels for people who have fully fitted out ships, but putting the neural processors only in the missions you can only complete after you've gotten your neural processors is nuts.
Biggest cause to me of pug failures in ISA is groups who don't take their time to do it. they rush the cube and spheres above the generators and as soon as the cube blows they start popping the generators and forget the 2 sphere are even there. This leaves them attacking at least one if not two players and they have to focus more on staying alive then putting out their top dps. Also clearly to me for a pug to succeed there must be someone with a high end gravity setup and usually there isn't the nanites need to be delayed for at least a minute. Also I often see everyone converging on the nanites and leaving the transformer to 1 or 2 players to try and take it out. Primarily there is typically an improper group balance and little to any coordination or communication in the group and that is why they fail not because the objectives are nasty. Frankly, I don't run ISA much anyway as it doesn't reward anything I need that I can't get somewhere else perhaps that is the bigger problem. The players who are capable of doing it or know how to do it right either don't run it or only run it in private groups.
Comments
It seems that for you, advanced is no longer the best way to get BNP's.

Trolls are virtually impossible to prevent but, weaksauce player(s) can be prevented, as long as they are willing to up their own game.
