uneasy allies: disarm?

nevawinnanevawinna Member Posts: 281 Arc User
How are you supposed to disarm the bombs? If i stay outside the yellow area nothing happens. Once I touch the yellow area it goes red and shrinks, if I jump back it resets, if i don't move or get close to the core it blows up. Never do I get any prompt to interact.

There is a small area where if you approach slowly, you'll get a popup to scramble. You move in slowly again and scramble. You move in and disarm. It's along the lines of the mines on Kobali.

Hmm if I inch the slightest bit closer or even just stand still I blow up, so not working for me. Maybe you need perfect latency for this to work, which I don't have.

Have you been to Kobali Prime? In that war zone we had similar thingies, those just were mines to disarm! I feared they would apply these nasties at other places as well, but they did it!

1.st.: go to yellow border, then click popup message!

2.nd.: go to blue border then click popup message!

3.rd.: go to bomb itself and click disarm popup!

do it two more times and ur finished with that sh*t!

i also don't know why cryptic thinks THAT we are the bomb specialist Sylvester Stallones xD from that movie THE SPECIALIST!XDD

Could be the angle of the approach...with the one, I kept getting blown up whenever I got anywhere near it until I came at it from a different angle...didn't have that issue with the others, but I couldn't say what the angle was for that one on the lower level. Their boundaries might be goofy...

About the above...it was red border to red border to red border. They were all the same color. I was looking for something else there like on Kobali, but it was just a moving slowly closer until the pop up came.

It took me quite a few attempts before I realized we're NOT supposed to run in between the gap in the red circle.

When I finally figured out what to do, I just had to make sure I didn't double-tap dodge.

Besides that and the re-spawn bugs, it was a fun mission.

Thanks for the replies, will have to try again once the game lets me back in again, got kicked off the server so maybe the lack of any popups was related to that. I do remember the mines on Kobali and I remember they were problematic as well, I think Cryptic should really stop adding "puzzles" that are dependant on your ping. Like the shooting&jumping puzzle of the 5th anniversary episode, that was impossible to do on higher difficulty with my ping. Not that I think they care.

yeah, I had some issues with the blue circle on the one on the platform, the blue circle was simply invisible.

Ok, I can now confirm that the scramble popup only appears at a certai spot for each bomb. Got past that, found and killed the saboteur and... nothing. Mission still says confront saboteur. This mission is awfully poor both in design and testing.

as far as i can tell, if you're on the same level as the device the disarm procedure may work better, but as the server is dead i can't repeat the mission to test my hypothesis >.<

Well the first time the saboteur got kileld and disappeared, didn't surrender as he should. Now I hit the next gamestopper: if you die at the plasma trap thing you respawn locked in a room off to one side and can't continue. I can tell this one was tested thoroughly. Kidding.

You have to able to get to it from where you try. If you can se it and thee is no obstacle in the way you should get the popup. If you try a spot where you can't no popup, just explosions and death.

    EDIT

But no really, the hints in game are about as clear as mud.

    EDIT2

I got there in the end, but man that was frustrating. It's like TPTB are fans of dark souls or something.
    I need a beer.

It seems to be a line-of-sight issue. you can't use the tricorder if you can't see the device.

    Seems logical

Also, there's a bar above the bomb that looks like a timer bar, but it's actually a proximity bar. If you pay attention to that you can accurately judge your distance without looking for the colored circle on the ground.
